100% Default setup. Didn't even change brake bias or pressures.

i am very surprised then as that is not what I am seeing, my Ginetta G40s do not slide sideways when they lose grip, they spin off uncontrollably ... they didnt used to do that either its only lately they have become much more difficult to drive in the wet. Maybe I changed the setup myself and now with the latest patches its become unusable .... each patch is changing the way the cars drive. How do I get back to all the default setups for the cars?

This is from the 1.3 patchnotes: (Which is the biggest physics revision, AMS2 had until today)

If you start losing the rear, apply some throttle to shift load to the rear. You will also change the way, the diff locks that way. The car features a geared differential. These things operate relatively sudden without an "inbetween" state like clutch LSDs with a preload. Throttle steer and early enough braking is required. Before 1.3, this car was a full spool and on way too grippy tires, which might have indeed increased coast stability.

Mine was default. Ive fallen foul of the folder deletion thing raised by Crimson above myself. It was messy... Ive also found myself balancing the car with throttle and brake at the same time on a few medium speed corners at Imola! Also I went back into my telemetry with a little more detail and I made a second a lap by braking for each corner 5 meters earlier..
I think just going by your experience that there is a pretty fundamental difference in what is going on between your car and ours. The key thing now is to try and figure that out. Folder deletion as described would be my first port of call for sure.

I have also tested the G40 in light rain and normal rain, and never lose the rear of the car in any strange way, as you are describing.

The problem is that this "tuning" folder only exists if you have made changes in the configurations, otherwise it does not exist.
I have seen many people, and myself, get a good feeling by completely deleting the "Automobilista" folder in "Documents".
This was what we used to do, and it seems that it is still necessary.

Yes thanks to everyone here - I forgot all about that patch note about deleting the tuneup folder, since I did that my Ginetta G40 does seem more stable on wet tracks now and is more difficult to spin off seems I must have been using my old tuning setup.

Might also help with some other cars that I've noticed were now quite unbalanced in corners like the modern Stock Cars. I probably altered the setup for those as well several months ago.

Essential if in doubt about any handling issues, esp when others cant confirm the same. Deletion followed by restart of steam and even pc (for correct indexing) helps.
    Glad to hear your sorted.:D
Rather than add to previous comments since your op, your post did prompt a test of the little car this end , I would not normally choose. Result was a fun race with High AI in thunderstorm. Was good fun and test of ai, tyre grip/weather etc and car itself. Will try the car again after this, for some fun. At least till last lap, (my error lol)
