I've read other threads, and it seems that a decisive solution is to lower the refresh rate to 239 Hz; I have no such option. When adjusting my resolution, it goes up to 120 Hz max. Is there any other way to get this to work? Am I missing something? My potato laptop does not run this game on default graphics well, but I'm locked onto them for now because of these problems with reverting settings.
And as an aside, are there any suggestions for controller settings? I've been really struggling to find something that doesn't feel too sensitive or not sensitive enough. I mention this because I'm currently using the demo to test out controller settings and bad framerates have been quite the roadblock to getting a good feel of them.

    Hello,

Do you use OneDrive? If so, please disable that feature. Alternatively, you could try using a symbolic link. Another option is to boot up AMS2, save everything as desired, and then set the graphicconfig file to read-only.

    Thank you,
    Marius

I've turned off OneDrive and I've set the graphicconfig file to read-only; the issue still persists. Can you elaborate on using a symbolic link? Can't say I'm too familiar with them. And if you can, please bring forth a couple other methods to make this work. I've been trying to get this to work for multiple days now with no avail.

    Hi,

I hoped that disabling OneDrive would help. So, regarding symbolic links, follow this URL: https://www.howtogeek.com/16226/complete-guide-to-symbolic-links-symlinks-on-windows-or-linux/ Open in incognito mode or delete your cookies after. (Always a smart thing to do). Also, back up your AMS2 folder in My Documents.

Also, if I recall, non-Latin characters in your computer name can cause a few issues with saving, but the last time I heard or read about this was years ago.

Fingers crossed the symbolic linking works. Please do not hesitate to leave a reply for further help or if your issue has been solved.

Someone else just told me that this is because I'm using the demo and graphics settings are not saved in the demo. Is this true, or am I misled? If so, this is pretty frustrating, because I want to give myself the leeway to refund the game if I can't find any good controller settings and I don't want a time limit on how long I can test these settings.

    Hi,

You should totally be able to save your settings as it's working like the main release, but restricted in content.

Hello, I am experiencing the absolutely same issue. I can see the graphical config file being modified when i apply my desired settings and the game then asks me to restart the game for them to take effect. Once I do that, I can see that the graphical settings config file is being modified once again on game startup with the default settings. So there is not read/write permission issue on the directory, just seems like the Demo applies a fixed set of graphical settings rather than reading the file.

I use a 3440x1440 180Hz monitor, so I'm not over the 240Hz limit, but I did try lowering to 100-120Hz and even a lower resolution but still nothing applies. I have verified the game integrity, deleted it and reinstalled it, deleted the folder for AMS 2 in My Document - no success. I tried to change settings in game, close the game, make the graphical settings config file READ-only and the game reverted again somehow, even though the config file had different settings.

I'd really like this to get resolved somehow so I can test performance with settings to my liking. Very weird for a demo to not be able to allow us to test different graphical settings and answer one of the main questions players have before buying a game - how will it run?

I've since committed to the game and played more of the full release, and I've had no issues of the sort. This seems to be a demo-only problem, for whatever reason.

Until we get some confirmation, the best you can do is find out which graphics changes don't require a restart of the game and adjust accordingly. What I did was turn everything down and play the game without restarting. So while you can't completely optimize it, there's still a couple ways to save some FPS. Don't know why they did this, it's not super helpful.

I will grab the demo and see what's up as in why I doesn't save.
Edit: I can reproduce the problem. So I will forward it.
