Grass. I just don't understand it. Help.

So I think we all agree that there is a real problem with slipping on grass in AMS2. Do we have an opinion from a developer? We are here to be constructive and push the developers to make the game enjoyable

 

Sorry, no we don't all agree. In the 3000h I've put in to AMS2 I never felt that the grass is more slippery than it should be.
Grass needs respected and if you come off the throttle it is totally controllable.

 

This. Driving a small engine road car at 5km/h is probably what we all experienced and frankly it's vastly different at greater speeds, on wider tires and with high performance cars not designed for that surface.

Does it behave in the same way as other games? Absolutely not. It's definitely on a more punishing side, but if you keep your inputs gently it's reasonably easy to recover, which is how I think it should be.

 

Take a look at today's F1 race in Melbourne for some illustrations of what happens when you put even a quarter of a wheel off on to the grass while cornering or braking, or how well wet grass and slick tires work together.

Have any of you watched good woods st Marys races? Like a 427 63 galaxy go into the grass? Does ams 2 s grass seem even remotely similar?

To me, I don't mind so much whether the grass is realistic or not...I try to stay on the tarmac, but to say its realistic......ehhhh...not sure
