Hi Reiza, The latest update is great, especially because I'm a big fan of open-wheeler. But when can we expect a hotfix for the minor bugs? For example, the issue where the RPMs don't match the with the red zone? That only crept in with your latest update. Other developers bring a hotfix for minor bugs like this comes out a day or a few days after an update!
With all due respect, without on-hand insight in how they run things internally or what is involved with patching bugs and deploying a hotfix, I wouldn't be making assumptions about a release timeline. However, I'm sure they would be happy for you to lend them your expertise in fixing things pronto
Even though I’m sure I could tweak a thing or two in the sim, especially if I had a tool that could open all AMS2 files and many others (who aren’t Reiza employees) can do that too, that’s not the point here! The folks at Reiza have been doing this for years and consider it their job, and they make their money with it, so they should certainly be able to fix a few bugs! If everyone make mistakes at work, customers expect immediate improvement. Even though the current content was free, this is still so that future content can generate money. I’ll say it again: I didn’t ask about the next big update! I am a customer and have the right to ask such a question!
Yes, you have the right to ask a question. The problem is in the assumption that they can just wave a magic wand and make the fix appear on Steam immediately remarks like "more than two weeks for a few little bugs???" "Other developers bring a hotfix for minor bugs like this comes out a day or a few days after an update!" "so they should certainly be able to fix a few bugs!" Are not constructive and not "just asking a question"
So the way it works there bug list is never empty - there's always something to fix/tweak/add. Add the usual planned game improvements to the list of things to do and you'll quickly realise that some items have to wait. Each task is in the way of another and no team will have the resources to tackle them all. That's where a prioritisation comes into place and some tasks have to give way to another. It's not that Reiza doesn't want to fix some things - they just do things in order that may be impossible to understand for us, but I'm pretty sure it makes sense for them.
The Tacho is part of an ongoing HUD development and was released as a WIP , and will be better next update Minor bugs are not game breaking, and hot fixes are usually left for when there’s something inoperable , causing CTD or missing content. The update was stated to be only party complete, so easily fixed minor bugs will no doubt be included in next part.
They did release 2 hot fixes with in 48h or less of the main update. The fact that the rev counter in the BETA HUD has not been fixed yet, probably means that there are other things that Reiza feel are more important to work on.
Not to mention they aren't going to publish a build with every tweak. It makes much more sense in all ways to release builds implementing many changes. The Reiza team are tremendous at what they do. Each update moves the sim forward in huge leaps.
""" Each update moves the sim forward in huge leaps.""" I have nothing against evolution; I’m happy when things get better. But you can also look at it from a different angle. It was never finished, so it’s still “Early Access,” and the customers are beta testers the whole time. They do this in their own interest; if AMS2 had stayed the way it was before 1.4, nobody would be playing it anymore. And I don’t really think every “improvement” is actually better. It could also be a way to keep using an old game engine and licenses and continue selling content! But let's not just complain; the driving physics have never been better than with this update, and I hope Reiza doesn't mess them up again in the future!
