How can I change my ingame name?

Still don't work... the name change for offline racing, but online and LB still our Steam username.

 

Did this ever get resolved

Especially for the LFM service, it's really important as you have no idea who you're racing against compared to the sign up sheet and post race results.

Maybe do like in some other Games, allow a name change but still tight to Steam account and with some rules.
You mean, in game name is only used in Career mode ? Seriously ?
I see a lot of gg4578, mrt78 and they probably use some more appropriate name in career mode

I see this thread is very old. But I am now confronted with this issue. I consider using AMS2 for some league championships.
Typically in our league we use our real name in racing sessions. But in the AMS2 leaderboards we only see our Steam account nicknames. Is there any workaround to get our real names into the MAS2 leaderboards for multiplayer races?

 

I'm pretty sure that AMS2 simply uses the Steam ID in the database, and then renders the name based on fetching the currently cached Steam name from the Steam API. In other words, if you change your Steam name to be your real name, AMS2 will show your real name as soon as the cache time-to-live expires, but then if you change your Steam name back to a nickname then it will again show that nickname.

I haven't tested this with the leaderboards, but I've tested it in multiplayer with success.
