there would be some real potential for AMS2 online. 1.) A decent dedicated server. 2.) an online rating system. What about the integration of LFM, actually? 3.) a different method to load liveries than via mods (Trading Paints?) These are the points that bother me a little, though the dedicated server is a real problem. After all, others manage to do it better. If they ever changed the dedicated server and online rating system situation, I wouldn't drive any other sim. Apart from that, AMS2 is absolutely amazing. Car sounds, graphics, driving feel, force feedback... everything is great.
There’s one thing about AMS2 that I really don’t like at all! It’s the mandatory publication of setups in Time Trial—this is simply a violation of my intellectual property, years of experience and knowledge are made available to everyone without my consent. Drivers who fine-tune a setup for a car are also at an advantage in real life (see, for example, M. Schumacher) and don’t even reveal their own setup to their teammates. Experienced racers figure out how much downforce to use on their own anyway. And for the people who can’t do that and/or are too lazy to learn it, or who demand a ready-made setup from Raiza—I say, bad luck. The setup and learning how to tune cars well are an essential part of a sim. Setups should only be published with consent.
Experienced racers are fine-tuning their own setups anyway, and inexperienced drivers aren't going to be as fast as you are on setups that you have tailored to yourself. If you genuinely are offended at the idea of people copying your setups, then don't use Time Trial, or modify your setup so you don't reveal your Big Secrets. And it's not like you win any prizes by being #1, so if you don't have a record time because you're using an inferior setup, you're not missing out on anything.
