Yeah, I know, what I meant is for example if it can somehow manage the following folder structure as an example (this was made just for example, not in calendar order) Where 1992 is the season Inside we have all the races Inside each race is the performance and custom livery file for said race, in case there was a special livery, helmet, driver change, car/team for that race. That way there is not only one XML file being used and it doesn't get cluttered with 15 track specific overrides for each driver, instead we have one XML file for each race and the program handles the change when the user selects the race to be run. This can be done manually right now, but with said tool/program handling the installation it would be pretty neat. Those that have experience playing GP4 with mods and the CSM tool can probably understand what I mean, it basically made it possible to load track specific data including car skins and models with driver performances, below a photo.

F1 1991 Season update is out This is our first release/update with the XML Selector, allowing you to simply modify your customized package. This F1 Season 1991 XML includes 6 different scenarios : 1) The default grid which is pretty close to what you could found for the first 4 races of 1991 2) The 2nd scenario puts the Fondmetal of Olivier Grouillard on the grid instead of the Footwork of Alex Caffi 3) In this 3rd scenario, Michael Schumacher makes his F1 debut in the green Jordan. He replaces Bertrand Gachot. The rest is history... 4) In this 4th scenario, right after the Belgium Grand Prix, Michael Schumacher jumps in the Benetton in place of brazilian Roberto Moreno. Moreno takes the Jordan seat instead. 5) For the final race of the 1991 season, Ferrari announces that Prost is fired. He is replaced by Morbidelli. 6) The 6th scenario is a fictionnal scenario, that puts Jean Alesi as Williams-Renault team leader in place of Nigel Mansell. What a story that could have been ! How does the XML selector works ? Simply go to your Automobilista 2 folder. Click on the "F1_Season_1991_XML_Selector.bat" file. The black window opens. Simply select your chosen scenario with 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6... More scenario in works ? We are actually considering to bring you the no-tobacco liveries "scenario" to perfectly fits Silverstone and Hockenheim Grand Prix. Please tell us if you 're interested in this, and don't hesitate to put your suggestion for more scenarios. This update includes the Fondmetal Team, a 1991 backmarker which struggles to qualify on the grid. The XML Selector will allow us to bring more backmarkers if you like it. Stay tuned ! Definitely! This would rise up the immersion to one of my favourite F1-Seasons to a level I never dared to dream about since playing Geoff Crammonds Formula One Grand Prix on my Amiga 2000 as a kid...
Excuse my ignorance as I've no idea what a XML editor is. Does this only allow to run individual races (scenarios) and not be incorporated into a custom made championship? If it can be incorporated into a championship how do you go about this? You may need to explain this to me like I'm a four year old. Either way thanks @Alain Fry and all involved in these magnificent mods, they truly do add as the name states Immersion.
You can use it for a custom championship no problem. Let's say you are doing the full 91 season, for the first 5 races you use option 1, then from round 6 to 10 you can revert back to option 1 or if you want to keep the Fondmetal keep using option 2. For round 11 use option 3 to have Shumy in the Jordan for his debut. From round 12 to 15 use option 4 and for the final race option 5. The only issue is that the points are tied to the car ID, not the driver, so if Schumacher scores points in his race for Jordan, they will not carry over to his total at Benetton.
This story of points linked to cars is a problem, for example at event 6 of Prost's dismissal... his replacement will be credited with his points? it's a shaky system (edit with google trad from french)
I have to admit i have not built the XML selector for the championship mod in ams2. But at the moment whatever you do, this championship mode, as it is built, dont allow you to bring driver changes during your season. I made this XML selector more in a prospect of single race mode, going race to race and giving you the ability to quickly change your race configuration (drivers, liveries etc...).
