Information for Customizing AI drivers in AMS2

    So I was doing some testing in the formula vintage and I am having trouble getting the cars with low values to have failures. I tried to get Gurney's Eagle to blow up by puting very low values, (.45, .15, .10) and tried 4 different sessions over 40 min each and never had a failure. Without any custom value its working fine, had over 6 failures in 40 min, but I would like to simulate the bad realiability certain drivers had. Any idea how to manage it? Thanks!

    So it seems people have started to figure it out themselves - but it would be good to get the two lists (under the spoiler tags) in the OP updated when someone gets a moment ;), i.e.:
    - Full list of vehicle class names (to include all the new variants requiring extra AI xmls)
    - Full list of track names (to include the new tracks and layouts for overrides)

    I've started to update some of my files and first impressions on F-USA Gen3 seem to suggest the same thing you are seeing - i.e. oval performance bears little or no relation to the values I've put in the xml .

    My AI files all refer to Custom Liveries, without them, they are useless. And I can not share 40 ore more full mods with liveries and AI, because it would take ages to upload.

    F3 custom AI (Racedepartment) doesn't work anymore. Any idea?
    Edit : already renamed F309 but without success.

    What happens with this now that in-game Aggression setting is a textual value from Low to Max?

    I think under the UI, they're still numerical values (they still are on the DS). The text entries is just to make it easier to quickly set up lobbies.

    Specifically, in terms of how to ensure the exact aggression values in our custom .xml files are used, as per gian's old explanation:
    • At 50% "Opponent Aggression" slider setting, the driver aggression will be identical to the overriden value.
    is setting it to "Medium" in-game now the equivalent of 50%?

    I think it’s 40 Low, 60 Medium, 80 High, 100 Max but don’t quote me on that xD

    New in update V1.4.0.0:

    Two new custom AI parameters were added in V1.4.0.0:

    vehicle_reliability: In short this is a ratio between the lowest and highest possible reliability for the car/class in question. @oez explained it in more detail in the OP.

    fuel_management: For now this parameter works in oval tracks only (but in future it will be extended to all track types); The higher the value, the more the AI will try to save fuel in some strategic situations instead of pushing, like when it sees it can maybe save a pitstop, it will try to stay in draft and coasting instead of overtaking while at the same time trying to not lose much distance to the race leader. It doesnt mean high value is better than low value, its just a characteristic of the driver.

    As Shriukan said, Low is the old 40%, medium is the old 60%, High is the old 80% and max is the old 100%.

    OP updated with this info to explain how the custom 0.0-1.0 AI aggression values are mapped.

    So, you can not get the exact AI aggression as set in the custom file anymore?

    Its just that the max range possible was reduced a bit (with 50% slider you got a slightly bigger range), but the custom AI agression 0.0 and 1.0 are still mapped to the min and max of the range of each setting, and proportionally in between.
