Interesting. Let's see how it effects the behaviour of the car.

This is actually a pretty cool update. Research (from @ray64040 and some I did) proved the W/D should be about 56%R, which is closer to what one would expect for a mid-engine car.

Well at least for me the Porsche Cayman GT4 drives a bit better after this update. I still had to do a bit of setup tweaking for my style but it was done after I reset it to default and the car feels a bit more predictable with inputs.

As a fellow newcomer I’d say yes, AMS2 does require a bit more tinkering than most sims, kind of like how older systems like the PS2 needed some setup to get the best experience. Start with tire pressures and brake bias, small changes can make a big difference. Some cars are just naturally harder to drive though, so don’t be too hard on yourself.

Thread resurrection alert! Not sure why you’re comment five years and many iterations later but…I’d say most cars are good out of the box now. Especially low or no downforce cars that don’t need to be adjusted for each track unless you’re really searching for those final couple of tenths. My generality would be add a notch or two of brake bias to the rear and takeoff a click or two on the front sway bar.

I'm enough of a rookie that I never do any setup tweaking at all and have a blast.

Hmmmm maybe that's why I'm not too quick...
