Mid race saves

    Even as I mentioned in my last post, I can't ask for too much. After all, similar LMU games also have unresolved save file bugs. When saving in AMS, issues with AI tire wear, weather changes requiring tire swaps, and damage estimation are likely to occur~~since these problems already exist. Therefore, we can overlook them. All we need to ensure is that the AI's fuel-driven pit stops, correct fuel consumption, accurate fuel load, and mandatory tire changes during every pit stop—these fixed and simple elements—are preserved without issues. We don't hold out hope for AIs with diverse strategies (though it would be great if achievable). All we need is an AI opponent with fixed pit stops and reasonable fuel consumption. In short, only the player's car requires complete preservation of details like tire wear and fuel levels. If damage can be included, that's fine; if not, it's acceptable. Well, I've essentially covered everything.

    And sometimes, doing a sloppy implementation of something just for the sake of doing can introduce problems and unwarranted comments. So it's best to hold a little while for the feature to be as refined and consistent as it can.

    I've posted about this elsewhere here before - but to add my 2c again - I agree that a compromise mid-race save solution would be far better than not having one. In my use case (which I don't think is that uncommon) being able to set aside hours at a time to sim race is rare, which effectively means I don't/can't take advantage of all the functionality and experiences that really only emerge in a longer races. That to me - particularly in a game with a lot of endurance and F1 content - is a bigger compromise than having a limited mid-race save option that e.g. saved the general race state and approximate track/weather state and reloaded a reasonably similar situation.

    I think many of us who enjoy immersive offline experiences are well capable of rationalising any quirks arising from this kind of functionality as 'changeable conditions' or AI team strategy errors, or whatever - if it means we have the option to break up a long race into bite-sized chunks.

    I think it's an important factor in terms of the potential career mode too - as being effectively limited to a career of sprint races would be a shame.

    Anyone who feels it's too much of a compromise on the continuity of the race could always just... not use it.

    Maybe I’m losing it and that was already in the game. Now with TA on you can use multisample as well?
