My YouTube Channel is now live.
Half distance race at Montreal between F1 1990 and 1995 cars, with me driving the Williams FW13B.

1 hour race at Le Mans between Group C and LMP900 cars, with me driving the Jaguar XJR-9.

These videos are still finishing uploading, if the quality looks off.

Jean Alesi was an F1 driver for the for the plucky Tyrrell-Ford team in 1990, gaining a few impressive podiums along the way, at Phoenix and Monaco.
Williams wanted Alesi to be their no1 driver for 1991, and reports suggest that a contract was already signed around mid-1990, replacing their Ligier-bound driver, Thierry Boutsen.
Nigel Mansell’s sudden retirement announcement after the British Grand Prix, meant that a prime Ferrari seat was now also available.
At the time, Williams had been a consistent 3rd-best team for several years, and there was no obvious indication that was going to change in 1991. Similarly with Ferrari, who proved to be as fast as the McLaren-Honda team throughout the 1990 season.

Understandably for Alesi - not going to Williams and now signing for Ferrari, was both a head AND heart no-brainer of a decision, as no-one then could foresee the switching of competitive roles between the two teams that would happen from 1991 onwards…

    5:30 NO WAY :D:D:D:D:D

I was already impressed by the TV effects (getting better!), but the bug/stain splatter actually made me laugh. I love that so much!

It is a bit wonky how it just swoosh slides out of frame, but that was great nonetheless :p

You can see this very often in real-life footage of onboard cameras.

"It is not a tube they are using but a film visor. The visor is stored on a clean reel and whenever the lens gets contaminated by water, oil or insects they wind the tape/film forward onto a dirty reel to clear the view. This is the main reason why the camera housings are so large." From Formula one onboard cameras - F1technical.net

It all makes sense from a technical viewpoint, it was true back in the days. Today however, lens have become so small that obviously this cleaning apparatus got obsolete. Or is it?

Lots more details with images there, very interesting: Reddit - Dive into anything.

Obviously not the same era than the car showcased in the @GregzVR video, but still worth showing IMO. The principle is the same, but less bulky and smaller.
