A back-to-back comparison race with the last race at Jacarepagua with the VW Passat, this time in the Mini Cooper S. Both cars produced very good races, but very different races.

This race with the Mini was more taxing on my mind, even though I knew what the weather was going to do, mainly because of the much-reduced fuel capacity of the Mini compared to the other cars in the class.

We are rich with countless channels that do a great job of going over tutorials, how-to's, talking heads, reviewers, lap time gurus, endurance champs, etc....but nothing that scratched a particular itch I had. So, I ended up making a seperate channel now for what me and a few buddies wanted and couldn't find. Self taught on the fly (old dog learning new tricks) and still learning the editing, mixing, and everything else that goes along with it, so bear with me on this initial journey. Goal in these videos is to highlight some good racing battles, but also keep it unedited leaving in the silly mistakes we all inevitably make (OK, not you Mr. Alien) at some point. So this channel will highlight the good, the bad, and the downright ugly, while trying to express the story and flow of the race through sights, sounds, and song. Enjoyable for the casual observer (hopefully) but also plenty in there to dissect for those looking to learn some things on track via both good AND bad examples. Even a few finer points sprinkled throughout other videos for those of a more perceptive/philosophical/analytical/discerning/heady/existentialist crowd. Trying to recreate Need for Speed II North Country and McLaren F1!

 

What an absolute joy this car/track combo is! Perfection doesn't exist...but this is pretty close in my book. Subjective, I know...but let me know what your favorite track/car combo is that I need to add to my list to try.

 

The Gol's in AMS2 all seem to have a large amount of lift-off-oversteer. The CopaB Gol seems to be the most affected by this.

While this setup goes a long way to make the car drivable, you will still need to drive it mindfully. To fully remedy this trait in the car, will require Reiza to re-visit it and make some adjustments.

I hope that this setup helps to make it a viable alternative vehicle to use in the CopaB class.
