These cars continue to be more skittish than I imagine them to be, considering the huge amounts of downforce they had, along with the power. I needed a little bit of TC to keep these overly unstable cars in check.

 

AMS2 Has an excellent damage model, I love it, and the the 200% Damge scaling option is brilliant! The A.I. can also be very clever when avoiding an inccident, some of the best ive seen!
But there are some instances where cars react to crash'es in some odd ways. Also we still have the invisible wheel bug, where after a crash, you can return to garage, or even restart your session, but the wheels you lost in the crash are now physically back on the car, but not graphically representated.
In terms of their physical reaction to a crash. Iracing (which I don't own, but have seen plenty of) seems to handle that best, and has a great looking damage model! Rfactor 2 can be weird especially when a car flips over things can get pretty odd, a bit like AMS2, but unlike AMS2 it has'nt got such a good damage model. Of course the king of them all is BeamNG, but atm thats more of a driving sim than a racing sim. I noticed some of the behavior just today at Watkins Glenn and added it to this video, and for balance have also used some footage of when the damage model and physics work really well. What do you folks think?

Definitely not the cleanest driving by me or the AI(but mainly me ), to be honest…

 

I love seeing these combinations of car and track that aren't raced together usually.

 

My CART hype continues unabated...

 

If there isn't a 1980s NASCAR skin and name pack for these cars out already, I think there should be!

 

If one does come out, I will re-release the video with those skins, that would be amazing. I half-way wish there was one for the Brazillian Stock Cars but at the same time I would hate to Americanize a different culture's autosport.

 

I had my first go in these bad boys after watching all the videos online. Had to get a fix of the RF/AMS 1 Cart Extreme mod in AMS 2! I was not disappointed. You can really hang it out on the throttle, can't you?!

 

GPLaps is excited about CART oval racing in AMS2. Near the end of the video, he includes a wishlist. See 40:42.

 

The indy layout got it's name from when Brands Hatch hosted Indy. CART also visited Brands Hatch in the 00's. So this was a "possible" match, however, the 98 season did not see Brands Hatch sadly.

 

Did you ever try to race CART vs. KART ?
It's a real interesting and funny experience.
I tried to overlap one of the other Indy cars at AI level 120 within 10 laps a the Jacarepagua oval circuit.
What do you think ? Is it possible ? The video will show
