New 2026 Automobilista 2 DEMO is Out Now!

Awesome and very welcome news for people willing to try AMS2 in its finest!

A PSA to the new players - when you see monkeys at Velo Città those are not placeholders and are there in a real track too

 

That's absolutely great and will bring new players to buy the game (and DLC).
I wonder how the track list and car list was decided.

 

I think this an absolutely brilliant selection of content! The only thing that could've been closer to perfection when it comes to showing what AMS2 is all about would've been the inclusion of some kind of historical touring car type of vehicle, such as the Copa Classics. Those have always been absolutely brilliant (and massively underrated).

In the spirit of this new demo release I think I'm gonna give all of the demo content a try in the full version!

 

I love that you guys choose some really unique content and not just throwing in the same stuff all modern sims have (and that's coming from a big GT3 fan). V10G2, G40 and Stock 2024 are really fun to drive.

Just yesterday I drove the Stock 2024 on Ibarra with a friend after not driving them for a couple of months, we were really surprised how planted they feel now since they tend to be quite loose on the rear before

 

Whenever someone asks about some good virtual reality games that are available to try for free, I will now add Automobilista 2 Demo to that list

 

Hello, I have just found out that the demo is country-restricted in Germany.

Is this intended? I would like to play the demo in here.

 

Likely needs some information regarding the age rating. It's been mandatory on Steam for a while in order for a game/app to be accessible from Germany. Not sure how much work that would actually require from Reiza for this demo, though.

Aaanyhow, I just gave the Demo content a try in the latest Beta (versions should be identical for now) and I gotta say WOW. What a great choice of vehicles to choose from. The Stock Car 2024 is a bit of an odd choice in terms of its drivability IMHO (probably the worst of them, it's hilariously bad on cold tires), but all of the other ones are amazing. The G40 is hands down the best substitute for an MX5 cup, the F-V10 Gen 2 is IMHO the definition of F1 (at least in its V10 era), karts are never a bad choice (that brake pressure, though...) and even the VW TSI Cup cars are surprisingly good.

Honestly, at this point I'd say that if you try the demo either after trying the old one before or for the first time ever and still don't like what you get then sim racing just isn't your cup of tea. Which is fine, of course... Just sayin' you're missing out on a world of fun to be had!

Yeah, I also think that the missing age restriction might be the reason for the not-availability in here
I hope they are able to have a look into this asap, looking forward to try out the demo

 

I know it's a lot of work but you should relase a short trailer on YouTube and social media advertising this new demo. I guess a lot of people would be interested to try the 1.6+ physics, AI, FFB, VR performance, weather system, ...

Are the time trial leaderboards in the demo the same from the base game?

 

I bought the game last summer after trying out the old demo. The VW cars + Velocitta combo was a lot of fun for somebody who was new to simracing. With that much content in this new demo, some might just play it for ever, beware !
Joking aside, I hope this new version brings new players to AMS
