I’d been searching for a class and car that suited me for a while, and yesterday I test-drove the Nissan Nismo GT3 and was blown away by its handling and sound. I tested the entire fleet, but the Nissan stands out in every way of course, this is all subjective but it seems like the Nissan is underrated. It’s a really nice car to fine-tune, very stable in corners, and has great braking performance, which is something I often miss in other cars or that doesn’t match my needs or feel. I’ll just have to put up with the AI’s magnetic and unpredictable behavior, but what a blast this car is to drive.
I actually had the same surprise - ended up doing the entire built-in GT3 championship in the Nissan I went through all the different models at Bathurst and the Nissan was the fastest for me to adapt to, and obviously I set the fastest time in it (and only after a couple of attempts). I was quite disappointed because I really wanted to drive the McLaren
Nissan went from being the slowest GT3 Gen 1 (about two seconds on a one-and-a-half-minute circuit) to being one of the best in its class.
The Nissan is the best GT3 in terms of driving dynamics. First-generation GT3s are generally better than the second generation. The second generation is slippery, vague, and lacks road feel. To me, the Nissan is more like a GTE: very stable handling, less slipping, less vague, and good braking performance.
