Thanks for letting us know what is happening. I'm relieved to read the statement.
I also hope for an early resolution.

can you release updates, but not thru steam i suppose?

Could if things turn south see the deletion of all f1 related content in AMS?

Let me state again so there´s no confusion - the only restriction at the moment is for us to continue selling the game through Steam, and that´s Valve decision to make (and eventually revert when the issue is resolved to the satisfaction of their policy), as they are the ones effectively selling the product.

The game functionality will not be affected for those who own it.

I think this is a bit like the game PES, (and that game sold millions of copies), just because the models in AMS have a resemblance to the ones used in their series, they are not actually the owners of the car models.

I am glad I have the game but really, FOM has gone over the top. I do understand what they are saying but to the point of anything related to F1 is ridiculous. I am sure thier target was initially at RD and since Reiza name is there the FOM turned to Valve and now AMS is a target.

I read their accusation to SIM Racing Developers and it is so broad that all SIMS gaming will be stopped if they don't pay up.

did somebody officialy confirm that it was about F1 cars? I guess it was the case but everybody is talking about it as sure thing: "FOM banned AMS!" since one article appeared on certain tabloid news page when all we know was that AMS page was down on Steam ...
As far as official info goes, it was Steam decision as reaction to unknown accusations and it will be sorted out somehow ... not affecting owners of AMS .... right? Perhaps I missed something ..

People are pointing at a specific issue for the claims.they are only assumptions since the claims are from an unnamed company as stated. As always happens people need to find someone to point at, an escape goat to turn our anger towards to. I don't know till what extend something is protected by copyright i just hope this misunderstanding ends well for reiza that doesn't deserve this, they are a bunch of good guys with a passion and amazing skills. After many years off playing games and especially racing games I got back into it thanks to reiza. Since then ive been watching more races on tv of events that i didnt even know existed.
I think Reiza is doing good to the racing community sim and not, i feel like someone is bullying a little company for silly reasons.
I wish you best of luck Reiza and hopefully everything will be sorted soon

Assumptions are amazing. Make 10 assumptions and when 1 of them turns out to be vaguely correct (in this case it was that it was a copyright claim and nothing more, not even who did it) suddenly the other 9 assumptions are given credibility and you go on from there until you're fending off the endless extrapolations of facts (see uninformed opinions heavily laced with personal bias) so long you're hopelessly lost and without any concrete knowledge anymore but the feels... oh my how the feels feed on it.

Much feels, such lack of logic, many stupid. Wow.

If this is FOM work, how can they actually apply the "copyrights infringement" on a fictional single seater, when iracing has a F1 mclaren and they can't do nothing about it ?
