As much as I want to put this in bug reports, as I'm very confident this is a bug, I'm hoping that a dev takes notice through this thread as well, because I want to describe and discuss my issue a lot more than the bug report thread would allow.

Of course, latest version of the game itself (1.6.9.91). I noticed that when I was checking my audio for balancing, the cockpit audio of the HiTech Gen2 Model2 wasn't picking up any cockpit audio compared to what I'm actually hearing in my headphones, enough to the point that, while the other cars can normally be heard, it was very prominent when I noticed the reverb a lot more than usual.

For those that can't watch the video, the audio that's missing through the recording is the Ignition switch and "start tone" (however you describe the sound that means you know you can turn the car on), and, of course, the engine audio itself.

This similar-ish audio behavior is something I've noticed in replays, with the external audio/mics. Where there's something in the car audio that is always perfectly picked up by the trackside mics. Not sure if it's the Traction Control, rev limiter, floor contacting the ground, gear shifts, or something else, but there's something that's always picked up perfectly, when instead it should be centered to the car. But that I can hear in my headphones, this issue is something else entirely.

This seems to be for a couple Formula cars, I did off-hand test one of the V-10 models. While the engine audio was there, it felt a little less prominent than it did in my headphones as well.

Follow-up! I've managed to narrow down the issue! It depends on how the audio is being captured through OBS. Any general device capture (eg. headphones) on OBS will capture all audio from AMS2 normally. Any direct (application-specific) audio capture will omit some sounds (like the ignition switch and in-car engine revs in certain cars) from AMS2.

I'll put this in bug reports for posterity!

it is not just the formula cars, for me all cars sound is broken (all that I've tried) including historic and modern machines and I have 100 volume setting and cannot hear my own engine sound, barely. I hadn't noticed the change with the start sequence but yes that too. I used to hear the engine turn on and turn over when starting, but no longer.
