    The AI became too slow. Lapping 1m21-22 when I can do 1m20 easily.
    And that didn't use to be the case. I have notes from playing with the same car/track combo about a year ago, and the AI could lap at 1m20 at 110% strength.

    AI lap time is a long way off what is achievable.
    Below screen shot is the result summary having started from the back (24 car field), in the lead by the end of the 2nd lap. Ending lapping the field plus an additional 30secs on top and coming up to lap the last placed car for the second time in a 30min race.

    The AI cars are generally slow all over, but especially slow to the approach of the final hairpin in sector 3.

    ** Totally appreciate that this might be resolved in the next update, due soon. I thought it worth raising, just in case it was not already on the radar.

    - Moutain Straight - As the AI cars start to reach the crest and dip about half way down the straight, they seem to feather out of the throttle

    Hi! I find the AI to be very fast with a full tank (200 liters), compared to the laps that one completes. I've conducted several tests with various categories, such as Fclassic Gen4,3 V10 Gen 2, and they are very fast in line with the lap times one achieves. I believe it's not balanced. With the V10 GEN 1 category, I don't experience this issue, and in the case of the V12 category, they are slower than me (obviously, they don't reach 200 liters here). I would appreciate it if someone could conduct these tests.

    I'm using AI at 100%.

    In the tests I conducted, I tried with 25 liters, 100 liters, and 200 liters, aiming for normal lap times without seeking hot laps. With 25 and 100 liters, I matched the AI's pace, but with 200 liters, there's a significant difference compared to me.

    Has anyone else experienced this?

    It's a know issue with most of the Formula cars, they are actually working on it, so hopefully it should be more balanced in the future.

    Formula Classic Gen 2:
    Since one of the updates, the model 3 car (the one with the V6 turbo) is much slower than model 1 and 2 when driven by the AI.
    Have not driven these cars for a while, therefore I do not know when this change happened. But in earlier builds, this car was the fastest car of this class (except the McLaren MP4).


    Now, they can not compete even with high values within the custom AI file. Watched them drive with and without custom file. When file is in use, they come a bit closer with high values, but still are way too slow.
    Shouldn't the turbos be the fastest cars of this group?

    Edit:
    After watching the AI drive for a while, I found out that the actual "ranking" in this class for version 1.5.0.5 is:
    1. McLaren
    Biiiiig gap

    2. Model 2
    3. Model 1
    4. Model 3 (the turbo cars)

    • Session Distance: 1 hour 30 minutes
    • Weather when the issue was observed: Light cloud
    • Player Tyre: Soft
    • AI Tyre (if known to be different from player): Default set up
    • Type of session when the issue was observed (practice / quali / race): Race
    • AI cars: 21 GT1 cars, 10 GT3 cars My car: Porsche 911 GT1

      It should be noted tire and fuel consumption were set to be accelerated. Also custom AI files were used. Due to fuel burn, 3 stops were necessary. A few of the top AI runners had to do a 4th stop for a splash and dash. And a few which stopped 3 times, 3 of them ran out of fuel on the last lap, gifting me the win.

      They might have been underfueling too aggressively? Maybe the fuel management in the AI file is too low? If you topped off at each pit stop, you could easily finish with 2-3 laps of fuel left over.

    • AI cars: 31 GT3 My car: Mclaren720s
    AI are pretty good around Silverstone, but are slow or lifting through the corners around the pit lane complex. I have to tap the brakes to avoid hitting them and can still easily pass them. They also just seem too slow going in general through Copse.

    AI very often can not break free after hitting a wall or barrier and causes carnage and pile-ups. See video below...

    AI still blocks/fights other cars in their in- and outlap in qualifying.

    ai are just wild. I agree that they are just far too aggressive at totally inappropriate parts of the track. They just dont withdraw. I have tried low mid high and they act the same every time.

    There are still so many issues that I fear that Reiza either does not know how to make an AI which deserves this name within this engine or just does not care anymore, as the game is almost 4 years old now. AI in AMS1 is much better.

    - AI builds trains in all sessions because of their inability to overtake.
    - Instead of overtaking, they ram each others all the time.
    - When driving in a pack, car in front gives you a braketest in corners whilst car from behind attacks like crazy, blind for the situation.
    - When being overtaken by player on the inside before corners, they never withdraw but try to force their way through on the outside by going over the grass.
    - When being overtaken on the outside by player, they cut corners in order to avoid the overtake.
    - They do not brake before but in curves, then almost stand still on the apex and can rocket out, though.
    - When player is beside them, they make strange lateral moves instead of holding their line.
    - When there is a collision, they hang in other cars tyres and keep pushing the throttle like crazy.
    - They can not break free after hitting a wall or barrier.
    - No DRS-effect, because they close their wing all the time due to their ramming.
    - After a collision with player with damage settings on full, they just go on driving whilst player's car is destroyed and undriveable.
    - Even when they have lost their wings, they do not pit for a repair, rather crawl around the track and block faster cars.
    - Still no penalties and flag rules for AI, they are allowed to drive like madmen without any consequences.
    - AI does not suffer from dirty air effect, they can go like on rails in any situation.
    - They go side by side for ages without overtaking, just blocking the whole track (the most annoying thing).

    All those issues have been reported several times over the years, bot nothing changed.

    Edit: I am tinkering with custom AI files, but there is not too much you can do as the general behaviour of AI does not change.

    The third point is my main issue with the AI.
    I also have the strange feeling, that the AI is much more agressive when behind the player.
    Today I was driving in second place and was able to follow the leading DPi very closely. After some time he made a mistake and lost the first place. After that he was a lot faster and way more agressive and tried to overtake in almost every corner. When he was in the lead again, I was able to follow very closely again. It's difficult to tell but sometimes it seems a bit like rubberbanding...

    Have the same feeling.
    Example: I drive on p3, the two cars in front go side by side very often but never overtake each others.
    Then, I get the chance to overtake both before a hairpin. In this case, the car which was on p2 for a long time and fell back to p3 after my manoeuvre, all over sudden manages to overtake the car which was leading before and almost rams me off track.

    Hello!

    The truth is that AUTOMOBILISTA 2 is a great simulator, possibly the best currently..
    What exasperates me is that when I overtake a car, it soon hits me against the wall.,instead of moving forward carefully, and unfortunately, the AI did not receive a penalty. I Have tried it with the v10 gen1 in the 1997 season

    But hey, I'm sure it can be solved in the future.

    I repeat, i think it is possibly the best simulator currently. I think they are doing a great job.

    On historic tracks like Imola 88, the AI attack the high curbs all the time even in open wheelers and jump like frogs, especially when player is near. By doing so, the often ram other cars off track.

    LOL, I have no idea why your frog comment made me laugh so much. But now everytime I see the AI on the chicanes in Imola 88, I will see them as frogs bouncing around :p

    Seriously now, they do bounce a lot when going over high kerbs, one of the annoyances of the Madnees Engine, they look extremely unnatural.
