I had the same issue. Take it as a motivation. If i remeber correct you don't have to catch the ghost for a better lap time. There are a few car track combos where this happens.
I guess it could be a nice feature for time trials to set the ghost 20 or 30 meters ahead. Catching up is easier than staying ahead, for me.

 

Hey hamtidamti! Have to say its quite hard keeping up with you. Beast of a time at barcelona! and other track too. Sorry for being angry at you a lot But you have all my respect!! I'm trying to catch u. But Yeah, I second that option for the ghost to be ahead a few meters. Or to make them more transparent, or just the outline of the car to be visible. To be frank, I cant drive with Ghosts, I simply cant concentrate when I'm inside of an another car and it blocks my view, and cant see my brake points. So I never drive with ghosts..

 

Thank you very much and apologies accepted. Driving without a ghost makes it more difficult for me to recognize my own small mistakes. If there is no ghost, I always use my own best session lap time as the ghost. Otherwise, you only recognize mistakes per time sector, and not for each input (braking point, which gear to use when accelerating out of a corner, etc.).

 

I have to agree for some classes : I tried Monza with the Copa Fusca, the ghost I spectated (#1) could attain 180 Kph while I topped at 163Kph... Same at Monza 71 junior, the #1 ghost is unbeatable on the straights.

 

I apologise if someone else has posted this... Road atlanta 2005 short will not let me set a TT laptime. Car track not something or other. Lemans and spa work ok. Is there a work around ? I seen patch notes yesterday relating to atlanta short and being able to cheese. Might be that.

 

No workaround, I think each track and class has to be activated manually by a dev, and this layout was forgotten.

A bit late on this, but I think this happens in tracks where the start finish line has moved recently. So older ghosts start at the old line and newer ones at the current line.

Please continue with Time Trial of the Week. When one ends, it would be nice to no have to wait so long for another to pop up.
Lately i find myself booting up ams2 just for this event and when i don't see one posted in game i have been shutting it down.
I really enjoy TT in ams2, not sure why.

There is problems with this weeks Spa TT. The #1 time was set with a car that is not an option! Everyone else is using the stock Valkrie, #1 is using the race car version -which is a completely different car.
#2 is using the right car but cuts the final corner, probably out of massive frustration because he would of had the #1 time. He is a top driver and should know better but I'm sure he is just upset at this.
The best drivers didn't even do this TT, probably because of this, and that's a shame after all the work that has been done to this game!

 

Can anything be done about the time trial leaderboard exploit / cheat that allows people to not share ghost and setup?

Personaly I think the ghost should always be visible when chosen. The setup on the other hand, I m ok with it not beeing public if the player wants to keep it private.

 

Can you be more specific (track/car combo)? There are certain bugs/issues that have been reported in the past pertaining to ghosts on certain tracks, such as the Nurburgring Nordschleife and the Nordschleife '71 (You can't even load your own ghosts). See Here

From my understanding, once a user quick-lap is completed, the ghost is automatically saved (non-local). If someone knows anything different, feel free to chime in -> but I don't think the missing ghosts (that I am aware of) are by design and may be a Bug/Server Issue.

 

That's not an exploit, that is a bug. I think it is related to the game not autosaving your setup anymore, so as far as I could test it ghosts are only saved if you manually save your setup before your lap. If you just run your timetrial without manually saving the setup before the ghost and setup can't be loaded

Stock car USA Gen 2 around the new oval.
First of all, how do we drive these things. One tiny hit of the gas and i'm doing 360s
Second, from what i have seen so far, the top couple times are riding the walls around the corners.
