yes take my time down i am second ,i was just following the ghost to see what would happen ,and i stopped after a few times ,something not right there lol

 

I also rode the walls after 10 tries and not making it very far, hahaha, i can't drive these things at all

 

i am very gentle on the throttle in the corners and also apply a little bit of brake in the turn in to balance the dam thing , i also think it helps if you use manual clutch and gearbox and gently put the gears in with the clutch without disturbing this thing

 

Could be wrong, but there are some instances whereby a setup and a ghost will not show up:

- if the default setup has been used, then no 'wrench' will show up on the leaderboard as it's considered that no custom setup was used

- a ghost will not show up (iirc) if the TT attempt was made whilst offline.

Happy to be corrected though. Also, sorry if going over already-known territory.

 

I believe there's a false (or glitched) time trial:

Time trial time is approx. 5 seconds faster in the first sector than me, which on its own isn't a problem however the ghost car starts the TT ahead of me as can be seen in the following footage:

You can see both at the start and end of the lap in the video that he is well past the start/finish line when the lap starts.

 

The finish line on Road Atlanta was moved to match with the visual finish line on the track with one of the patches in the last few months. Older timetrials will still start and finish from the old finish line, but the overall laptimes should not be affected by this.

In general I think will all the physics and tire updates since 1.6 it's quite time to reset all leaderboards since tons of times are impossible to achieve anymore, maybe we get that with 1.7 in summer?

 

I agree that we're due for another TT reset (even before discovering this problem)

I am wondering if there's some sort of weird calculation going on that affects old Time Trials after the fact due to the start/finish line moving, as while I know I'm slow around there at the moment, I'm pretty sure the gap doesn't blow out to 5 seconds in the first sector or I'd never see him again.

AI on 117 difficulty is running around 1:28 so approx. 2 seconds slower than his time but I didn't cross-reference sectors

Edit: having thought about it, his last sector is 1 second slower than mine so if it's only sector times that are wonky and not the lap time, it may be that for example, you take 3 seconds off the last sector and add them to the first sector and suddenly he's only 2 seconds faster in the first sector and now also 2 seconds faster in the last sector which seems a lot more feasible. And from memory I think he was about 1.8 sec faster in the middle sector

 

we are unable to use the McLaren MP4-4 in time trial when you got the Low Downforce package : check Hockenheim 1988 and Monza 1991 for example
