I'm just saying, you can still see a difference. It's worth a second look. That's what this thread is about, right?

There are certainly differences in the suspension movement and car movement in some of the comparisons. I think, no one is arguing with that.

Alright cool. I'm going to do some testing with the G2m3 and g3m2 with different onboards I can find. I will try again to dial it out. I will let you know what I find!

Wasn't meant to be anything negative just a side consideration for a second of light thinking. It is clear that suspensions movements aren't one to one in some of these cases. Not sure that is achievable either, developers not having full access to the cars' detailed settings as well as the tracks profile, anyway who knows... :D

Also having control of damper transition rates would help. If I remember correctly, Renato said that was in the works, to some degree

Well, the one on YouTube. It shows it from the beginning, I don't think it hits this part though

Here's another Adelaide vid. It seems to be the track mesh is just bumping up and down the whole lap. Also I think the replays are not totally accurate - it doesn't seem to be that bad during the actual gameplay.

Here's a quick video to demonstrate what I just posted above about the discrepancies between gameplay and replay footage. Even the sound of the replay is different. The top video is replay, the bottom gameplay. You can see the issue most clearly by watching the mirrors - the top one is bouncing and vibrating the whole time - the bottom is not. The vid is unlisted for purposes of this discussion, but I will be fancying it up to put on my channel, so more people will be aware of it. I get a lot of comments about bounciness on my channel.

Edit : removed that video and linked to the complete one that I published on my channel, where I discuss this issue.

Yeah, the replay cockpit cam is differently fixed to horizon and car.

Without doubt it is known that a number of information are lost in the replay. Earlier you could notice even a different camber in the wheels from that being calculated by the sim's physics. My understanding is that what the replay (or even the spectator for that sake I guess) see is not really that close to the actual gameplay and it seems to be a thing that goes deep down into the coding.
That would probably also explain (partially at least?) why in some cases two different players see slightly different events in each one's replay when they go see what happened in a contact during a race

It looks to me like the suspension is moving hardly at all in the replay, more like the tire is just bouncing. I think Ettore has a valid point, that there is missing info from the replay.
