Thanks for your replies. So eye tracking will probably never be available.

Based on past history of Reiza not fixing or even acknowledging the existence of VR issues, then yeah, probably never

Ive just got a quest 3 and was trying to get the open xr toolkit working with AMS2, seems like it jsut doesnt work, but then I came across this video.....

It would apear that if you use virtual desktop, it does work.

I cant test it as my wifi signal is not strong enogh and im jsut using a link cable.
Not sure if Virtual desktop can be used with a cable link.....

So, I upgraded from Index to Varjo Aero...
... and cannot make foveated rendering work. I tried every possible MSAA combo and rings just misbehave on every level - weird culling artifacting, missing geometry etc. Which keeps me with "high" supersampling in Base then, because I cannot hold stable 90Hz with rain and lights.
I suppose it is some glitch with no workaround?

Is somebody having issues with a WMR headset where AMS2 always starts on SteamVR instead of OXR no matter how you set it up? It started happening to me after recent updates on both fronts this week.

This started happening to me a while ago. I can get it to work with the following procedure:
    1. Close Steam and SteamVR down completely (right click->exit steam from sys tray icon)
    2. Use OC switcher to 'Switch to SteamVR'
    3. Start Steam
    4. Use OC switcher to 'Switch to OpenComposite'
    5. Start game - should hopefully start using OC
The usual fixes, like making the manifest file read only don't seem to work any more, so I don't know if newer versions of Steam/SteamVR cache the OpenVR dll. Doesn't seem to impact everyone though. Anyway, I have this workaround, hopefully it works for you too.

Hi, I have today reinstalled everything on a new nvme. Trying to use OpenComposite (G2 HP) it doesn't work. I receive the error in the picture. What is absolutely strange is that with my old SSD, that is still in my PC and I can use (I have a double boot) it works perfectly. Any idea?

Have you just gone straight into trying to run AMS2 via OC, or did you go gradually?
    1. Confirm headset works and WMR home comes up when you put the headset on
    2. Install OpenXR Tools for WMR (microsoft store app) and set WMR as active OpenXR runtime
    3. Run test app from within OpenXR Tools for WMR
    4. Run game as SteamVR, without OC, to confirm it launches ok
    5. Enable OC, but disable OpenXR Toolkit. Run game
    6. Enable OpenXR Toolkit. Run game

First of all thank so much.
With the expeption of the last two points I have done everything you mentioned. I have, anyway, de-installed and install the VR part and it seems it goes now.

Has anyone been able to use OXR with the Quest 3 yet, or is it not needed with the debug tool? I've not been able to get OXR to work with it. The debug tool doesn't seem to do the FFR for me, just makes the viewing window narrow, which is very unnatural. The frame rate is reasonably solid but it still jumps here and there making F1 races impossible. Using a Lenovo Legion 3070 currently. Works ok but not well enough to stop me tinkering and actually enjoying a whole session on it of only driving.

You need to follow this thread VR Discussions, Questions & Feedback

    and do the hack suggested

then launch via steamvr that will bypass oculus and give you access to openxr toolkit to make adjustment needed on picture and performance

it works perfect on my Q2 should be the same on Q3

Hi yes discovered this after posting. Thanks for the reply and a big one to the person who made the file. Worked in seconds and as described.

Still fiddling with settings but OXR seems more stable and without any lag jumps.

    Hi MrMe,
i have a Q3 too but i cannot seem to make openXR work
i replace the openvr_api.dll in the x64 directory of AMS2
i put the 64bit LibOVRRT64_1.dll inside the root directory of AMS2
Set Oculus as active OpenXR runtime
i launch steam and launch the game selection steam mode
the game will launch in 2d, no vr mode as soon as i put the 64bit LibOVRRT64_1.dll inside the root directory of AMS2

    any clue please ?

    maybe i'm doing something wrong

    thanks

    Any popups/error messages/dialogs?
It just sounds like you haven't got the headset in Link mode, but I'm guessing you've already checked that.
It launches in oculus mode ok without that DLL being there?
