OpenComposite OpenXR

Do you use Open XR at all? or just Pimax XR? What settings are running in game and Pimax setting?

 

same for some weeks, now it crashes

 

No, I abandoned OXR & Toolkit after I first tried PXR. AMS2 & other titles never ran so well in VR before. I should test again now that @ayrtonforever is having issues, maybe something has changed.

 

Can't figure out what's the issue, i thought to fix it starting in safe mode and resetting to default

 

I just confirmed, it's working here although, when I first started AMS2, I was not in the car and could not reset the view. Turns out, the Open Composite runtime switch had reverted to Steam VR instead. Once I fixed that, everything was back to normal in AMS2.

 

which LibOVRRT ??? should I use in my AMS2 foldeR? that from original? Since to no avail AMS2 always starts with oculus runtime (wired at the moment)

Hey guys I have a AMS2 + OpenComposite/OpenXR issue.

Menus render fine in the headset and mirror, but as soon as I enter the car both the headset and mirror go black. Audio continues and AMS2 doesn't crash.

SteamVR mode works perfectly. Issue is OpenComposite/OpenXR only.

Problem is intermittent - sometimes restarting AMS2 makes it work, sometimes not. It was even working earlier today and then started black-screening again with no obvious changes.

Tried different OpenComposite DLLs, resetting AMS2 configs, OpenXR Toolkit on/off, and reboots.

Anyone seen this before or know what might cause it? It's extremely frustrating. Thanks in advance

 

You didn't mention which headset, but I'm going to guess Meta software is the issue. Try Virtual Desktop

Which runtime are you using? PimaxXR or Pimax OpenXR or SteamVR? Try a different runtime and see if you still have the issue

 

The default pimax one. No point using steam vr as that defeats the point of open composite but yes it works with steam vr

 

j have this constantly i must restart once maybe twice before its ok , i contacted pimax support but that didnt help i think if i just use steam its ok
On some occassions everything is ok ,maybe you could try pimax evo beta for your dream air

 

With this you can change fov and many other things , this uses steam

The tool from the github repo was mentioned here. It was not developed on it anymore since 2 years and I question if we still need this since Virtual Desktop seems to render AMS2 in its own way when I start AMS2 from within the Occulus-Virtual desktop

 

Heya unfortunately it still does the same thing with Evo. I'm experiencing with Sboys3 driver but the performance of open composite is hard to beat.


Anyone got any other ideas how to fix the black screen on race start I'd be super grateful. It's so strange! Does it with no toolkit or any other layers installed to

 

yes problem with it for me is that it makes you load the game everything seems fine you setup a race or join multiplayer then it turns black screen
If it just turned black at startup it wouldn"t be so annoying , cannot say if its a pimax or reiza problem ,but it only happens in ams2

 

I had it go black once on my Crystal Light but never again, I use ohnespeed version of the tool kit to crop my vertical fov. I'm onbtge latest public Pi Play.
Concerning though as I've seem this talked about in a few places now.

 

i have onhne speed also , sometimes it gives me a break from doing it then it comes back bigtime
