Can you give a list with pros and cons, then I will think about responding, (I don't want to create youtube-traffic)

Depends on what you prefer as a driver really...

I find a lot of people trying to drive the cars too aggressively, braking too late and chucking the car into the corner, causing the car to spin out.
Especially in high downforce cars, the slow/mid corners where all the downforce has gone you need to be very careful in your trail braking/throttle inputs.(which is very realistic in AMS2)
In other sims you can get away with it, as the tyres/physics mainly give you wash out understeer.
(which is not realistic at all in slow corners, unless down to the track conditions/tyres have gone)
So really it just depends on what you like/want out of the sim.

1.I think Reiza should definitely implement 2 types of setups per car/maybe even one for the wet as well, just to cater for all levels/style of driver.
    Loose
    Safe
    Wet
    Endurance etc.

    2. Some cars after hitting a bump/kerb seem to keep bouncing a little too long, instead of settling back down.

3.The camera setting in cockpit should be setup better out of the box, too match the other sims in question, as in it's current state can give a false impression of what the car is actually doing, causing over corrections that are not needed.

Apart from that I don't really have any complaints, plus it gets better and better every time i turn it back on, so Reiza will have probably addressed the issues before I finish writing this post lol...

Thanks for answering me. Appreciated :D.
Hehe I have to admit that I keep to one or maybe two cars.
I dont know if its just a personal habit or it has something to do with my leg challenge thing ;)
But all the way back in the GTP mod from NR2003 I prefered solely the Sauber C9 to iRacing where I only used the Lotus 79 but also the Nissan GTP.
Here in AMS2 I concentrate solely on the F-V10G1 and F-Reiza because I feel I have learned to use my brutal shift down stunt to maybe not perfection but to some kind of stable technique.:)

ByTheWay: Mentally it makes me feel good when I can see on the TT LBs that even with my handicap /challenge I can often target the top positions (hehe somewhat :p).

Urgent: You cannot use braking for the same rotating purpose as my shift down thing because braking does impact all 4 wheels - where hard shift down on a RD car only does impact the rears.

This is true. It's a neat technique if you can master it. Some cars spin easily when you do that so takes learning. Also F1 2019 downshift spamming for "that extra rotation" became a meme during virtual GPs :D.

I meant hard braking while chucking the car in as another way to achieve aggressive turn in. It's not as focused on the rear as early downshifting.

I'm interested to see if the tires have already compensated for the differential's lack of slip. Something has to give right? So when we start seeing rear tire speed difference at higher speeds, what will we think of the tires then? It's likely going to be a minor thing though in the grand scheme of things.

This made me think of this discussion earlier (and apologies for not replying):
What he said :D. But I wonder if this will be partly eliminated when the rear no longers fights rotation with super grippy tires? I compared clutch LSD (sticky) and geared LSD (works ok) in Project Cars 2. Clutch type shows similar tendency to catch mid corner changing the trajectory a bit, but it just doesn’t feel as sharp. And no skipping.

In general the handling model of AMS 2 is superb. I like the direct input response the most of the vehicles have. The only thing I don't like is that strange "brake loose rear end" behaviour of a lot of cars. Especially of the F Ulitmate. Many people are claiming this to be realistic, others to be too exagerated in its expression. I think driving the F Ultimate with the standard setup is too unforgiving under this aspect. You just have to be too gentle with the braking and even with the throttle out of corners. I will cosider the advice given by Simmo99x (above), alternating my driving style a bit, or setting the car up to be less unexpected. In any case, how it drives out of the box, it's just not fully enjoyable as by now.

I do agree on a lot of things, here! Especially point 1. is a very good idea! I feel as you, the cars bouncing too much when riding on and off curbs. I think generally, in some areas, the physics of the vehicles are still to be rewatched a bit. For point 3. you are right too, fortunately, I can "workaround" it immediatly out of the box, by using the Track IR.

    Nice thread.

But did Renato ever said this differential issue can be really fixed? Because if it's an old characteristic of the Madness engine, that SMS, its own creator, could never fix, I wonder if Reiza will be able to do it.

    Hi,
For me, the only glaring thing that I wish to be addressed is the stock car 2020 handling. It is stranger than any other car I've driven in any sim. The bounciness and the squirly oversteer makes it almost undrivable.
Maybe I just suk and its realistic, but I don't think so. If its setup, can somebody give me a hint at where to start?
PS I rarely drive the street car camaro but its kinda weird still IMHO.
    Ty

Once upon a time Renato mentored a great virtual racing shed builder about car physics. Or was it the other way around... anyway, can't go too wrong with either option.

    :)
Indeed lets get it back online/direction as it was for early pages. Their are many on main game that clearly have handling Qs

We are talking about a studio, that implemented a "true" turbo model and torque map to cars in the "true" rF1 foundation, made cars "driftable" a lot better ....and they gave us Taruma and Cascavel. :p

    Have some faith :hurrayreiza:

Just exploring Brazilian tracks is great, tried a new 1 (for me) Was tip top, in Cat 170hp whichever its call. Handling was great as was ffb

To test handling (if you don't want to go full Kart Track) i can always recommend Velo Cíttá. This track exposes nearly everything of car handling/dynamics. And it's fun to drive.

Here's one for you: try the Formula Vee at Oulton Park. Does it not feel like it's somehow creating a deadzone when going over a mild crest (relative to the Vee's speed)?

It's a really well shaped track with lots of elevation changes, but mostly it has pictures of monkeys so it gets my recommendation.

Yes I ran there months ago and once recently after your post as test trck. Still have my faster favorites though .
Going to focus more on this side of game exploration tracks and vehicle, atm. online still
More south American joiners online is a bonus also and helps online grid.
I know 1 day I'll be happier with Retro handling. Its an unfinished product and still in development so, is as is.
Edit Yes Oulton is 1 of my test/fun track esp historic. Im sh-t at chicanes though have improved

Yup. It was actually causing questions in the beginning of AMS2, why the track has unrealistic brake markers, if i remember correctly...oh wait, the track has them also in AMS1...oh wait, it actually has them in real life. :D
Uhm...deadzone in the steering, or what do you mean?

Yeah steering deadzone. Can be felt in FFB as well.

Sounds almost like tires/front suspension geometry of some sorts.
Maybe i give it a shot. Is it for both (Sharkfin and non-fin)?
