A video could help as well, with the regular HUD in place so we can see throttle/brake/clutch inputs. What you're saying is occurring is very much contrary to what should be happening.

When you say the clutch slips, do you mean the clutch used for changing gears, or clutches in the rear differential?

Could you explain what you mean a bit more in this part please, I don't really understand what you are saying.

Austin Ogonoski raises a question: Perhaps one reason for the divisiveness regarding AMS2 physics is that the default setups in general are too stiff?

In my case, I've found that in AMS2 I sometimes prefer to soften front ARB and set the front slow bump to respond faster so that I can feel the car better during braking into a corner. But I find this to be necessary only with some cars, not in general. For example the Sprint Race. But it should be said that my motivation for suspension setup adjustments is mainly about consistency and feel, rather than lap time which is what Austin Ogonoski is talking about in the video above.

ive found some gains in Kerb behaviour play around with softer Fast Dampers . and generally softer rear dampers, so there’s probably some truth to it , but then again I don’t necessarily go any quicker than I would on default settings, especially over one lap , but It does allow more flexibility to not have the perfect angle of attack and pucker up in fear of losing control.

His point is a bit weird because he says the default setups are good for beginners and even medium racers. That is the point of default setups in my opinion.

You have to remember it’s Austin ..
He has to exasperate his superiority to you the normal folk .
Not to mention the rubbish Devs that unlike him are still employed in the industry.

I don't think any sim comes with perfect base setups. Not even real life racecars come with perfect setups from the factory, you will have to adjust them to the track and drivers.

But overall I think most cars have really good standard setups in AMS2, you can manage to go up to like 110-115 AI depending on class with the stock setup. For some cars I only do very minor adjustments, like a few clicks on the ARBs is often good enough to move the corner entry or exit bevahiour to how I like it

I thought it was because the "physics" was "floaty". But I think what they're actually trying to say is the FFB is vague at certain points and it confuses them.

[sarcasm] But noooooooooooo, they can't use the correct terminology and just end up confusing everyone. SMH [/sarcasm]

I wasn't aware the clouds were casting shadows. I'm wandering if at some points they will add localized rain.

It’s not really physics related .?
And there has been for ever, you can have rain at one end of a track but not at the other for periods of transition.

I know I'm changing topic, and this has probably already covered in this forum, but looking at the time trial leaderboards—specifically for the GT3 Gen 2 category—there are some incredibly low lap times that seem impossible to replicate on other simulators.

Is the explanation to be found in a different BoP, the tires, or the physics model? If it's the physics, can it be considered more forgiving while still remaining realistic?

Thanks in advance to anyone who replies, and a big shoutout to Reiza for these latest fantastic updates and content!

Personally, I completely lost my understanding of the machine... No accumulation of puddles, no snag on wet tires. Today, even AI had spontaneous reversals.

And after the last patch fixes, I'm driving on oil again.
I recreated the profile, nothing helped.

They are indeed nice to drive and have been long time, but you can still throw the rear around like driving a rally car on gravel.

There's something very slippery but yet controllable how the rear tyres behave in AMS2 and it unlocks a lot of pace for me compared to other sims.
For example in Sebring i just did 1.58.x with a GT3 which is seconds faster than i can even imagine doing in other sims.

I don't find them that slippery, they feel just right as a rear-wheel drive race car should. It must be said, however, that if you make them slide too much, you put the rear tires under stress. It's fine for a hot lap but not for a medium-duration race.

I reply in the Physics thread

It's as slippery as ACC, but ACC is harder to control which i prefer.

Unfortunately i don't see impact for tyre degranation no matter how much i drift the car..

1:58 at Sebring is a good race pace for regular GT3G2 race with stock setup. I have a blast driving this since the cars like M4 or AMG are so well planted for this tracks. I think it's ok if you can blast a hotlap or two with unclean driving, in real life these cars can dance quite a bit when being pushed, but in my experience you will easily cook the tires this way that will screw up even a 20 minute sprint. If you stay clean you can hold this pace without ruining the tires

You probably haven't checked the "Gameplay" settings.

Whatever they have changed with the slip angels and rotation of the car with the 1.7 physics is a MASSIVE change in the right direction.

For me AMS2 never felt this good, never really enjoyed the driving feel before but this is really good!

I still think it could a bit tad tighter but it's so so much better right now.

I do not drive in these classes of cars, but the problem with wheel locking is some kind of disease for AMS2. Because periodically, for a reason I have not identified, this happens again and again on all classes of cars.

Also, I don't understand what exactly fixes this situation.
Sometimes I think that this is some kind of bug with the authenticity of controls and assistants.
Because there is a problem when the gearbox automatically switches to automatic mode. And I suspect that when people's wheels start to lock, then this is a similar problem with the error of auxiliary systems abs, vehicles, etc.

Wheel locking, turns, slippage, this is my sore subject!
But the last time I reinstalled the game through Steam, and recreated a new profile.
But even at this stage, there is some bug with the assignment of buttons, the assigned buttons disappear, are not visible, or are not saved. I don't know what exactly is happening there, what exactly helps to treat it, but wheel locking, and U-turns, is a huge problem!
At the moment, after some manipulations, it is gone... But for some reason, it manifests itself again.
    -----------------------------
    Moza R12 + Simsonn
    -----------------------------

But for some reason, reinstalling the game and creating a new profile can fix this problem, as I had just the other day. It suddenly appeared, for unknown reasons. And I had to do it, it helped, but now there are other problems, ams2 does not save all commands. I have to reconfigure a few keys each time.

I wrote above, it looks like the same problem with automatically enabling the "automatic gearbox" setting. This parameter lives its own life, often turns on online! Then it can turn off itself. And these behaviors with slippage, poor grip, U-turns, and flying FFB, most likely, have a similar reason...

How to check if your AMC2 has gone crazy?
"If, in a stopped state, the steering wheel moves freely and there is no resistance of the wheels - reinstall the game!" - I had 3 times this year!

I also noticed that the settings for VR and monitor are different. Is this also a problem with its driver? Stop talking nonsense, there are problems in AMC2 that have not been solved for years, but they are very unpleasant, I would say extremely unpleasant! But we are powerless here, we need to try to figure out something ourselves in order to help ourselves and others make a crutch to repair the game and play in a normal state. Everything needs time, but we don't know when to do it. But there is a problem and it is significant!
