    Hi Reiza Team and Community,

I would like to share a feature proposal to further enhance the realism and visual atmosphere of multi-class and endurance racing in Automobilista 2.

Feature Proposal: Track-Specific Recovery Equipment & Mechanics

When a heavy crash occurs or a car retires on track, Safety Car or Full Course Yellow (FCY) periods are deployed. Incorporating track-specific recovery procedures and heavy machinery during these caution periods would take immersion to a whole new level.

    Suggested Mechanics:
    1. Track-Specific Recovery Procedures:
    - Nürburgring Nordschleife: Since the Nordschleife has long service roads, having tow trucks actually pick up retired/damaged cars and tow them along the side access roads back to the paddock/pit lane.
    - Circuit de la Sarthe (Le Mans) & Spa: Utilizing track-specific heavy cranes and telehandlers stationed at designated marshal posts to lift stranded cars behind the barriers.
    2. Diverse Recovery Fleet: Animated cranes, flatbed tow trucks, tractors, and telehandlers operating dynamically based on the venue's real-life recovery style.
    3. Dynamic Operation: Having these vehicles active at the scene during FCY/Safety Car windows before the race goes green again.
    4. Endurance Immersion: Seeing proper heavy machinery operating live on track during multi-class and 24h events would make full-course cautions feel truly authentic.

What do you think, guys? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Don't know if we will get tow trucks and crews on track, but 2026 dev preview states they are working on "tow & repair delays after incidents or breakdowns"

    Indeed, nice proposals.
I would be glad with some simple simulation (like in GP2...GP4, a marshall who pushed the car away from track or runoff.....or Papyrus' NASCAR racing which had a "towing" function with an unvisible tow truck) but as always it will then hang up in dissatisfaction if it is not simulated right and authentic enough.
Having some better simulation of debris, how they are on track, hitable, removing / cleaning time would be a big step. Especially the tires, it's much better than in the earliest and eralier AMS 2 times but sometimes they are still keeping on track visually. Not a big issue but not a nice visual thing.
Working flag marshalls, even though they are very rare today, are a very nice addition.
Back in times with GPL they were essential and I knew the position of each single marshal (even at Nordschleife) and had a look to them, each lap. Just to be prepared for something unforeseen comming after next corner, hill, what ever...
This, I hope will come soon. A very good function to be more careful in practice because towing takes time as practice time is limited. And you have to drive back to pits instead of just press ESC
But in the end, focuse should be and remained to be the best motorsport simulation

Hopefully we'll see this recovery mechanic added to the game soon
