Impossible to judge the outcome of the season on today. The morning session is the “teething” period where teams try to get the car running as best they can, and the drivers in the afternoon session get the benefits of the improvements made thanks to the morning session’s outcome. Wait until we’ve had a few races before making your guesses for the season’s outcome, I’d say.

I think McLaren will be the car to beat this season too with Ferrari their main competitors for the WCC.

(for NASCAR fans lol).. Will Denny Hamlin finally win a championship?//
so.. I know that Denny Hamlin is not the most popular driver ... but we've been following him since 2007 due to the fact that our son is autistic and back then he chose Hamlin as his favorite driver. So to "embellish" him back then my wife and I started becoming huge Denny Hamlin fans.. We had the Fedex bumper stickers, the jackets, went to a few races.. got his autograph.. the whole thing.. back in 2010 he "should" have one the championship (we're not biased lol) .. Around that time our son grew up, went off to college, and we only followed NASCAR here and there.. checking the results but not watching races anymore.
I still have good memories and so I check his stats occasionally.. and again he seems to be still winning.. I think he reached win #55 or so.. not too shabby .. and in the top 10 or 11 all time driver wins..
    but no championship :(
If this thread goes nowhere I'll understand lol.. just making conversation :)

As a fellow NASCAR fan, I totally get the attachment to a driver like that, especially with the connection to your son. Denny's been so close so many times, and yeah, 2010 still stings a bit. The guy’s consistency and win count are Hall of Fame worthy already, but I’d love to see him finally seal the deal. Maybe this is the year. Rooting for him just got even more meaningful after reading your post.

What's really funny is that my wife, who came to the US from Romania, was not a sports fan, and especially knew nothing of American motor sports.. and didn't care about these things.. but when we did this for our son, she became a very serious NASCAR fan..
Every race she would sit there at her desk and computer (while my son and I watched the race on TV).. and she had that "raceview" app which would allow you to "watch" any driver and listen to all the radio communication. She followed him every lap of every race.. for several seasons..
You should have seen her.. sitting there with her cigarrettes and coffee.. not to be interrupted as she watched Hamlin lap after lap (even my son and I grew bored after too much lol)..
She began to understand all the lingo and what it all meant "..looks like he's too loose in turn 1".. " .. he's coming in to pit early.. good strategy".. This was from the mouth of a woman not ever exposed to anything like this.. We would even tell her... enough is enough hahah.
    Those were good times.. :)
