So the not to distant future could be anytime in the next 500 million years

 

Well, good thing we had Windows come out with a big update!
...breaking nearly every driver in my system and introducing a whole host of issues not limited to lag and stutter.
What's more fun than doing the troubleshooting a multi-billion dollar software mogul should be doing for us, while we're waiting on our favorite purveyors of digital entertainment to release the goodies.
About 4 weeks to run until the new flight sim releases to drag things even more off-topic.

Not in my wildest imagination did I envision that potentially releasing before 1.6... But here we are!
Msfs 2024 releases November 19, I might run into legit medical issues here should 1.6 go into RC that exact same day

 

I'm sticking with DCS / VTOL / IL-2 Sturmovik GB. MSFS2024 looks to be quite good, but not good enough for me to buy yet another drive. Already did that for DCS which is now just under 1TB. Have fun with MSFS2024, I'm sure it will be awesome.

 

Good stuff! No you'll laugh your *** off if you see the initial install size.
It's one of so many complaints they've addressed. It's just the bare-bones game that resides on yer drive now.
I think even most of the marketplace stuff, the entire surrounding world is all server fed now. Of course you still have optional rolling cache which should benefit those with suboptimal connections the most.
I got a separate m.2 as soon as it was announced... Won't need it!

 

That's the other thing that turned me off. I have a monthly bandwidth limit. I don't want to be playing with a constant stream and being reliant on MS servers. Just a personal decision for me, I have no doubt it's going to be a massive success. Just having so many things to do in it now, rather than just flying around, really takes it to another level.

 

@Racinglegend1234 , great video by the way! I think it was a clever way to exhibit the various things in 1.6 without showing it explicitly - by doing the opposite comparison! Looking forward to seeing what you post once things leave notformedia.

Are you saying you began to have some stutters ingame?

Last week I had MASSIVE ones (like 1-3 seconds), creating some dangerous situations. At first I thought it was something with a complete field of AIs, but it happened again online. I even punted someone while "in the warp". Sorry.
This weekend it happened again, but less pronouced. I opened the task manager to see what was having an overload, but it stopped happening.

Yep, stutters every few seconds very noticeable ones but not a smooth experience overall, and I run things 100+ frames mostly.
GPU driver broken, Fanatec driver broken, TrackIR camera driver broken and a few others... Right after Windows update 2024H2.
Happened in Ams2, Euro Truck, and Raceroom and after that I knew enough.
Went to work deep cleaning GPU software, repairing various drivers updating drivers for motherboard components and after a couple reboots all nonsense appeared to have resided.
When I see that stupid circle and orange dot in my Taskbar my mood plummets.

To those still plagued by stuttering after the update, start with your GPU driver and work your way down through mobo drivers(chipset, audio, lan, etc.)
The current leading consumer OS is probably the worst piece of malware I ever had the displeasure of working with, but then again I remember Vista...

really cant wait for your 1.6 vid mate. Wish they'd pull their thumb out with the info vids we were promised. Not bothered when the update comes i just want to drool over the new look

I'll usually try to use one new variable max, but Corvette GT3 at Road Atlanta may be too much to resist.

Otherwise, most excited about the Alpine and the Audi GT3 so will try those out early for sure.

V8 Quattro somewhere late '80s or early '90s high up the list too.

But looking forward to trying new features with the existing content too, so Caddy GTP and Porsche 992 at Nurburgring to see how they compare; saw a vid of the autumn look of Nurburgring recently and realised I hadn't driven much with autumnal conditions.

 

We need a release date to be hype against. If it come to december/january its way to long to be hype against. But if its in 2-3 weeks ouf big hype
