I know about the „Try“ function for cars, but how can it be used with tracks? Just checkef ingame and I don‘t have the option for tracks.

    You can't, only cars.

To try the tracks you can do the competitions, there are always 3 completely free. Cars and circuits change every 2 weeks and you can use them even if you don't own them

I get your point. Raceroom definitely has a lot to offer.
Fortunately, I enjoy the car-handling in AMS2 far more than the handling of communications. :D

Been a few years since I played R3E, so thanks for clarification as this was not the case "back in the day".

Edit: if I remember correctly, they only allowed you to use the free cars/tracks in competitions, but I'm old, so I can use that excuse if I'm wrong on this.

The main problem I have with Reiza announcing massive tyre physics changes is you are basically telling me the version I am playing is lesser than what's coming, which is fine if you then release the patch pretty quick, not if it's 5+ months.

I’m a big fan of AMS2 and tried RaceRoom out of curiosity about a month ago while waiting for AMS2 V1.6. I was immediately hooked by RaceRoom’s physics and audio—it’s a bit less forgiving than AMS2 and more challenging to drive. I ended up buying all the cars and tracks in the premium pack, and I can’t recommend this sim enough. As Ilfanterock mentioned, their ranking system for multiplayer races and time trials is fantastic as well. The only things I miss are the immersive graphics with the day/night cycle and wet weather racing from AMS2. Most of all, I’m really hoping for a less forgiving slip angle in AMS2's next update—that would make AMS2 the complete package for me.

Yes. I will only be able to tell if this does happen but I believe that "floaty" feeling comes from the exaggerated slip angle.

When we talk about the „floaty feeling“, about what we are talking in particular?
For me, the „floaty feeling“ is mainly the feeling I feel in the steering wheel when I exit a corner and step on the gas. Instead of going forward, I feel like the car is shaking or „wobbeling“ to the left and to the right and just after a while it becomes stable again and goes forward intl the direction of travelling. On top of that, the steering wheel feels very light at small steering angles.
Is this what everybody is referring to as the floaty feeling?

I bought the premium pack twice, since their pricing model makes it cheaper to close your account and re-buy again rather than buying all the cars/tracks/liveries offered after your purchase. Over 1500 hours in that sim, more than any other I've played. But, I left it behind after they went through some tough times with new updates that broke many things for months on end and caused connection errors and disconnects. Slow loading times/Error 13's were also a pita. They cater to the European market and for those in the U.S. it feels like we're the unwanted step-child, so like a good unwanted step-child I disowned them. With that said, I enjoyed it when I played it, but I moved on when I found AMS2. I see recently they've made some substantial (being kind here) changes to it and I wish them well in their struggle to survive.

The corner exit is the most noticeable part of it for me. It's unique to ams2, I really notice it in the gt3s. It's a hard thing to describe but you nailed it there for me

"Have you decreased your LSD clutches from 6 to 4/2?"

This helps but doesn't fully fix it

I typically drive cars without any driver aids such as ABS and TC, and tune the diff for less understeer, and am quite happy with the resulting feeling.
For me, those driver aids mask what would be the real world without them, and could cause what some call a "floating" feel when exiting corners for example.

    This why I enjoy AMS2.

For me the floatty feeling is in mid corner when i can turn like i want with fast steering speed or normal and there is no clear difference.

Also the car doesn't feel planted during the corner

It is very visible in GT3 G2

So you suggest they should have stayed silent for 6 months, then announced the update? Wouldn't you have then complained about the initial 6 months silence? Silence is never a good thing. Even worse than missed dates in my book.

Whats special about 31st other than Halloween?

5th of November would make more sense, well only to England. It’s surely why they put fireworks into the game

Exactly, you've hit the main point. If the physics are going to change with version 1.6, why should I waste time now learning the cars, the tracks, and training on a simulator that was already labeled outdated in March with the announcement of an update that will completely transform the game? I have no interest in playing just to take a few laps around the track. I want to compete, and as someone with limited free time due to work, I don’t want to spend hours training in the evenings only to have to start from scratch when the long-awaited update finally arrives.

The wait has made me lose interest; I’m now focused on RaceRoom and having a blast with it while waiting for Assetto Corsa Evo to be released, which in two months will revolutionize the sim racing world. In RaceRoom, I’m currently ranked 404th worldwide and 20th in Italy, and I plan to improve even more before Evo comes out, given that from January 16, I'll be dedicating myself completely to it.
