Road to V1.6 Hype Train (cont.)

Yea I haven't been playing the game for a long time (since this August) and had heard back in v1.4 or smth they had planned to have a custom helmet/livery designer they could add that.

 

You cite the exact reason I did not consider becoming a beta tester, though I wanted to. I knew i just didn't have hours to dedicate to testing at the level needed.

 

I think people who have not worked on a multi-year project might not understand the dynamics. At some point, you move beyond just getting it out there. Once you lived with something for more than a few months you understand things that only come through experience. Because you are working with something that is new or just new to you, you keep learning details that only arrive through doing, testing etc. Sometimes these little forays may not produce what you expect and you chalk it up as a mistake. But sometimes you need to make that mistake to actually find the right approach. This is true on an individual and group level, but groups add more layers of complexity.
Gaming software is an art. Art takes as long as it takes.

 

I liked what was in these leaked videos. Every day a video comes out, and the guy drives very well and is simply pleasant to watch, plus the quality of the video is adequate. These videos are enough to give people something to talk about. Just one short race on each new car and new tracks. We still won't understand much about the new tire model, but at least we'll get some visual satisfaction.

 

Where?

 

There's no required level of helping. Everyone chips in with what they can. If you can spare 1hr and just share feedback or send the bugsplat when it happens it's totally fine. There's no real obligation for beta testers to do anything.

We (as beta testers) are disappointed with the guy who decided to post those videos down to the fact that to stay within that group there are rules that must be adhered to and one is that posting media (video/screenshots) is strictly forbidden unless specifically stated.

We all do this as we understand the rules, but then we see someone disregard them and post stuff for a bit of extra "clout" and attention on their channel and we feel a little disheartened....but we suck it up and keep it under wraps until Renato waves that flag and tells us "off you go!"

Personally, I realllllly can't wait to show 1.6 off to everyone, I've already done a bunch of killer shots and I've refined my obs setup for 4k livestreaming on YT as 1.6 deserves it...but rules are rules and we gotta keep our gobs firmly shut...for now.

So if you see anything posted that shouldn't be, as much as everyone is chomping at the bit to consume anything about 1.6, don't signpost it as they've broken strict rules and as mentioned previously, there's a chance their actions *may* affect the release date...and I'm pretty sure we all don't wanna wait any longer than we need to.

 

I understand the frustration for those who follow the rules and see others who do not respect them. On the other hand, we also have to understand the "hunger" that REIZA customers have. They were not the ones who talked about dates, periods... And the desire to have in hand something that, in description, seemed wonderful, is great. The only way to put an end to leaked videos is to release 1.6.

No, the way to put an end to unauthorised media being leaked is to find out who they are and revoke their access to the beta, not for Renato to "release the kraken".

I really do get everyone's desire to get hands on with 1.6, but it's only going to get released when Reiza say so, not when someone else does.

1.7 will not be released for at least 12-18 months. 1.6 must already be released, define the needs and gaps, look at the new standards of the sim racing market...

That would give March/April 2026, i.e. for the release of the new generation of F1, and therefore Formula Ultimate Gen 3, and Stock Car 2026.

Effectively ! everything in its time.

Gen 2 were released in 1.3.5 and 1.5.6, Gen 3 may very well be 1.6.X

In my opinion, this will be an extremely important car for AMS2. With EA releasing horrible games, AMS2 is a perfect alternative.
