Yep, as far as a more enhanced championship, it's ready when it's ready.

I hope I am. It's a good thing, but a lot of stuff I've been working on in real life is starting to gel. Oh the irony, that when 1.6 gets released I'll have less time to play. Cry me a river, I know.

 

Well, nothing has changed, except for the colors and styles of the buttons - this is a matter of taste, I would not say that the design has become better, it is just different, and yes, a couple of buttons have changed their location (almost all windows were shown on the stream). These are all very superficial things, which, as you said, are needed by a small group of enthusiasts. And the ability to create more than 4 championships at the same time is an important update in a game where dozens of classes, different eras, and where there is no career mode are presented. This limitation seems a little absurd, after all, we are not talking about large-scale changes related to physics and simulation. Just more slots, that would be reasonable. And presets of ready-made championships - why can't they be edited? I switched to AMS2 from Assetto Corsa, where I suffered enough, creating championships with the help of mods, and these Frankensteins could eventually break in the middle of the game. Automobilista 2 does a great job of this, but when creating championships you have to choose 4 classes from a huge list, and this choice is artificial, it only exists because of a strange limitation of the user interface.

 

Being able to edit the preset championships would be a bug plus. I am pretty sure that in older builds it was possible.

For me the most beneficial improvement to the UI, and I am sure for the majority of users, would be the janky scrolling to be fixed. After that I would agree with your choices over any visual changes.

 

I'll just say, not replying to this post specifically but all related to this topic, SMS were unable to make custom championships, a much requested feature, work for pCARS1 and pCARS2. The fact that we have it with AMS2 is a huge win. People should practice gratitude.

 

I'm watching the Brazilian GP qualifying, they keep giving expected start times but qualifying keeps getting delayed. What does that seem familiar?

The good news is that 1.6 features shiny dry tires for the F-Ultimate G2, and tire reflections in the wet.

 

Have you never heard of copy/cut paste? Create new folder(s), transfer existing championships (easy to find in My Documents/AMS2), create new ones. Simple! Needless to say a solution to the problem I already use. Perhaps a bit of thinking and problem solving would serve you better than complaining...

Here's a solution to your problem, Create new folder(s) use copy/cut paste to transfer existing championships (easy to find in My Documents/AMS2), leaving you space create new ones.

Build people up, don't pull them down.

What is this "thinking" concept you're talking about? Sounds complicated.

Anyway, seriously now, nothing wrong with wanting more championship slots really, I'd venture to say it's easier to implement than mid-race saves and driver swaps and whatever else is on different wish lists.

Things were going so nicely, it was relatively peaceful on the forum for like a day, but all good things must come to an end, I guess

 

so guys i supose that 1.6 will come at black friday, and if its not it will come at christmas....

And if its not new year i was just mad on this forum because a take my vacation in beginning of november. I am moving to my new house and this update would be a good timing to come. But, I will take a one day off when its release no stress

 

That lull around xmas, a holiday I mostly ignore, I love for sim racing. No one's working, too cold to go outside. So here's hoping.

 

I didn't know about this method How does it work? You go through 4 championships, then change one or several in the folder, and your progress is saved? They shouldn't break after the update?

Automobilista is amazing, it goes without saying, and the gratitude of the players is expressed in the form of purchasing the game and all the DLCs that come out and positive reviews on the trading platforms.

 

Think of the method as a save back up, swap in and out as you please with the original folder. Only trouble is that the championships are named xxx_1, to xxx_4, no title, so you have to either rename them and replace the naming format before reuse or name the folder(s) you put the saves in. 100% safe, no breaking the game ever in my experience.

Funny some folk "dislike" the advice, whilst the recipient is curious and wants more... Grumpy old men tend to be grumpy! Gives them something to laugh at when one gets a reaction, brightens the day and eases the grump.

To keep to topic, perhaps Reiza are too busy with genuine improvements to the game to spend time on such trivial matters as save capacity that can be solved with a little lateral thinking.
