Looks very clean, comments about the physics and FFB sound great so far.
Evo Looks like it has a very good starting place

Already looks fantastic in the alpha and if the driving behavior is also good, other simulations have to prepare for strong competition. I'm very excited about EVO

The audio seems very good too, possibly advanced beyond that of ACC.

I might get excited in 2-3 years, not even vaguely at the moment.

Is there an AC Evo discussion thread?

For me its the free roam feature that fills a niche that other modern sims don't offer and would be the reason I would buy it.

Graphical it looks nice, but not a massive step forward. Driving feel and FFB don't seem to be any advancement on other available sims. Of course if the modding scene is anything like AC, that will be a big bonus.

It does seem we will be spoiled for choice in the next few years, which is good news for all sim drivers, and the competition between sims will hopefully bring a lot of good stuff our way.

If 1.6 delivers everything that is promised and Reiza continue to bring great stuff to the sim, it will have a healthy player base for years to come.

And just like that the thread goes completely off topic, discussing a sim that isn't even out yet. You guys are funny.

Apparently the Road to v1.6 is paved with AC Evo impressions. Some people are easily excited too by the looks. Have yet to see anything to get excited about or revolutionary. Still, at least there are video impressions available.

Some content spotted in the preview streams is missing from the OP, namely:
-Formula V10 Gen2, which was raced at Hockenheim
-Mosport is visible in the track selection screen in the second stream at 17:14
-There's one track named "Foz" at 17:12 of the second stream which isn't in 1.5

Foz and the Formula V10 Gen 2 have been in the game for ages. Foz is a dirt track released in the Adrenaline pack and the Formula V10 Gen 2 is vanilla content.

Oh, that's the only DLC I don't have so that explains why I didn't know about it. Got excited for a moment thinking it was some funky way of naming the Porto circuit.
As for the Gen 2, you're right, I got the numbers mixed up thinking the gen 2 was actually the 1. My bad.
Still, at least we had a visual confirmation of Mosport from the UI.

I'm getting flashbacks to NASCAR 21 Ignition, not saying that AC Evo will be a disaster like Ignition was but I think it's good to keep that whole debacle in mind. Infact this is good to keep in mind for any prerelease footage of games, including AMS 2 1.6.

Ignition was INCREDIBLY hyped up before it's release by the community because it both looked good, and used rFactor 2's engine. Sadly we all know how that ended up. It's always good to keep healthy skepticism until you actually get to experince the game for yourself in its full glory.

It looks like a massive step forward as it seems to be using ray tracing, which is a first in sim racing outside of the replays in GT7.
And also we are talking about AC EVO as apparently Kunos has given us more footage to get excited about for a game that releases next year than what Reiza has done in a supposedly imminent(tm) release.

I dont want to derail this thread and I hate to break it to you but the developers plainly said they are not using ray tracing and are using screen space reflections (At least thats what they said in the overtake.gg live stream - which was so pathetic tbh - maybe not completely unexpected for a live stream where they try to pander to the lowest common denominator chat buffoon).

However, the fact you think they are using ray tracing proves that RT is more hype than substance because you can't even notice the difference. It also proves that quite a lot of sim racers see what they want to see / feel what they want to feel rather than what is actually there (Especially all these supposed youtube 'experts').

I don't mean to pee on anyone's parade as passion and enthusiasm is good for a hobby and can be infectious but sometimes it needs a slight dose of reality added.

Source? It's too difficult to tell just by camera gameplay, but the trailer does seem to show some things that could be raytracing. I'm going by speculation read elsewhere too. At some point ACC was also going to have raytracing so it's not impossible.

And yeah the trailer clearly shows a shot that can't be achieved with screen space reflections. Wether its just a replay (it says gameplay), or some other method is impossible to tell, but is clearly something not easily achievable. They could be cheating and just enabling it for the trailer of course.

Here you go. Sorry to disappoint again. I even did the work for you to find where in this video they state this fact that they are not using ray tracing but using screen space reflections. Check this out at around 43:25

Thanks. Having hear that, trailer at:

At 1:10 shows a scene that doesn't seem possible with screen space reflections, and it says in game footage. So it could be that it is a replay only feature, something that they rendered just for the trailer, or just something that they aren't revealing at the time, or some feature that might not make it to EA.

That's accurate, yeah. It will be a setting aswell so players can still choose to use relative or full track map.
