Road to V1.6 Hype Train (cont.)

I want to believe that 1.6. physics will hit the target this time, would be nice to have something solid. I still remember all the hype around last year's game changing tire model update, we waited ages and here we are again.

Can't argue with that I guess. It's a really complicated engine and they discover things as they continue development, so indeed maybe in a year we're in the same spot once again
I don't believe so, though. Sure, we will get some details improved (some more traction for car X, some more corner exit understeer for car Y, that kinda stuff), some features added (e.g. graining).

But for a fundamental overhaul there needs to be some fundamental flaw, and I have a really hard time finding these in the current beta.

 

Guys, i have a question in the beta of 1.6 is the cars has no longer a flotty physics ?

 

Hard to answer, because everyone thinks "floaty" is something else.

Are all cars planted always? No.

Are they more connected and grippy than 1.5.6? Yes.

I think that's all that can be said...

the hype train is back on track

 

I’ve thrown myself back into AMS2 this week to escape the news.
It’s been a nice distraction.

GT3s are my main, but today I took the Cadillac V-Series for several spins. I loved how planted the car felt — no lift-off oversteer, and less backend slippage coming out of turns. It was a lot of fun to race.

GT3s by comparison feel more slippery. I know this is an observation other folks have made about AMS2, and it may just be a real-life difference with GT3s, but I'm curious how GT3s feel in 1.6. Are they still “slippy” or have they been stabilized?

 

46 pages already, blimey. I've been enjoying a renewed love for @Stakanov files, very lively and enjoyable. Should tide me over til 1.6.

 

I have a question for the beta testers:

Will I still suck enormously?

 

VRC's 'Arden' prototype comes out for AC tomorrow; I didn't expect to need it but seems I will - will be interesting to see how the driving compares

I was wondering the same... If you're anything like me, the likely answer is yes.

It will, however, be much more fun to suck at this game.
(Also, as others have mentioned, less "WTF?" moments. Yay!)

 

Speaking for myself: yes. I will l also suck when versions 1.7, 1.8, 1.9 are released...

 

I don't suck, I just like to role play as a barrier, gravel and grass inspector.

 

New fear discovered: the possibility of v1.7 coming with new physics and taking more than a year to come out!
