It's not humanly possible to finely tune AI to all these variables, so I think there will always be the need for people to tune the % per track. It's not that hard to though, just let the AI do some laps in practice and adapt to your own times.

 

Plot twist: 1.6 has been shelved and instead they are aiming for 1.8 a year from now, they are just not telling anyone this time around to avoid over hyping.

 

Maybe we will see after 1.6 updates to finalise the UI , anti-aliasing and shadow cast improvement. Whole IMSA 2024 grid.

What are your bet on the future of AMS2 post 1.6 guys

 

Certainly don't expect the whole IMSA grid, there will be some hold out manufacturers asking for obscene terms still no doubt (looking at you Lexus and Ferrari).

Frankly, I hope post-1.6 to see the plans for the vintage sportscars and Le Mans track sometime, but frankly don't really care for that at the moment - would quite like to see what's in v1.6 first......

A small correction: current evidence suggests the new shaders are sitting at 99% shady

 

Here is a bit more serious take on this from me.

1.6 physics doesn't require (or allow) to abuse some excessive slip angle to be fast, which I never learned to do properly, so I feel I'm faster with 1.6 personally.

 

at this pace we might even see v1.7 before v1.6 drops!

but seriously, I think the delay could be because of some issues with the license for the new content

maybe they need to wait for the approval from the license holder and for some reason they don't approve it

 

Looks like the delay has hit that excessive slip angle from the 1.5 version of physics and even expected completion time is floating now.

All jokes aside, whatever is dealing with, I genuinely wish them all the best.

 

Hmmm, I still think the AI calibration explanation is the most convincing. Yet I also notice that Lamborghini was never directly mentioned in any of the dev updates so IDK
