Road to V1.6 Hype Train (cont.)

Very nice idea! It shows how much stuff is being worked on and helps understand why the update is taking that much time. Some people are upset, it is a good sign, though, even though calling devs incompetent is unacceptable.

I agree with something some forum members said, let's not overhype V1.6. I myself am probably also guilty of this, I've praised the current beta, I honestly think it's great, but no update is going to meet your expectations if they simply are unrealistically high, no matter how great it is.

Yes, it is going to improve the game overall in many aspects, people will be pleased with how the cars they love to drive feel (sometimes it is hard for me to stop driving), but V1.5.x already fixed/improved a lot of the handling/tyre issues.

And let's not forget, like in any other game every update can have some bugs and even introduce new issues that only become visible after the update is live and thousands of people have played for hours, because it's clear game development is hard.

So while the update is huge and will bring lots of improvements and great content, it's not going to completely transform AMS2 (it'll look different with the new UI, which looks great imo, very clean). It already is "in a good shape", V1.6 is "just" making it even better, development will not stop here as projects like AMS2 are WIP. (Btw I'm not saying you're overhyping things @Rodger Davies)

For the rumor of a European circuit added with 1.6, which circuit do you see?

Personally, I would bet on Budapest or Magny-cours. To complete the 1993 calendar, and because these circuits are used in F1, endurance, GT and tourism. In addition, they are in countries not or barely represented in AMS 2, and finally they have historical layouts.

 

Well I would absolutely love to have Budapest or Magny-cours preferably both. Also these tracks would help us fill the calendar for 1995,1997,1999 and 2000 seasons of F1.

 

Since I don't care about F1 at all, I would prefer Motorland Aragon, Autodrom Most, Zolder, Salzburgring, Assen or Istanbul Park.

 

On the one hand, you naturally want as many cars and routes as possible. On the other hand, you also have to remain realistic.

The more content we get, the more difficult it is to set a good standard for all content. The quality of tracks and cars is also affected somewhere by the quantity.

All simulators have this problem. Sometimes I wish a developer only offers one car and one route. Let's see what happens when someone like Reiza, Kunos etc can concentrate completely on quality. It would definitely be an economic disaster in the age of GT and Forza.

But how far could such a simulation stand out from the others in terms of physics, force feedback and AI?

At least, we know more about evo then 1.6. We got an early access release date, we have lot of good gameplay. Kunos are very good to communicate.

 

V1.6 is on the horizon, that's some good news. Once we get dev update pt.3 you know it's around the corner

i just dont understand why no v1.6 preview vids. after OT.g stream gone "bad" almost one month ago, renato said that more content creators got green light to make their own previews

well, if v1.6 was ready for preview one month ago, why isn't now? i guess there was changes the last month but are those changes that big so they need to cancel/postpone/red light those other previews?
i really dont get it.
is the v1.6 release so far away that we cant even get a preview of it?
i know there is a lot of work, its a small team etc so the schedules and release dates are difficult for reiza but i would expect when the dev says "i gave the green light" to actually give it.
or better say nothing if not sure even for simple things like this...

I think they're a bit hesitant to do another preview stream because of how the last one went. Probably waiting to have the beta be in a better state (though I do think the beta was in a good state when the stream went live), and have a wider variety of new content to show off.

 

so, a preview 3 weeks ago or even today, would be bad?
we will wait anyway mate, but there is nothing wrong (for us, non beta testers) to have some previews while waiting. or is it?
i was not the one who said there will be previews, no rumors and/or assumptions here: renato said it and i was hyped to watch them.
if what you say is true, its sad IMO.

 

Also maybe waiting to confirm other cars /tracks to start preview

 

I discovered it in the first post of this topic.

 

If you got a preview we will anticipate a release days after. And thats wouldn’t be the case. People like me will be mad to not have a release date. They are still working on some feature that are not finish like the physic on all class or the sound on all class. New Beta build are still release. Preview would be release if it was 2-3 weeks before release. We are probably month before ready.

 

mate, reiza, one month ago decided to give overtake.gg "exclusive" to do previews of v1.6
it gone wrong and the same day it was on air, renato said that others got green light to do previews.

if all things you (and others above) mentioning (the preview should have a release date, it needs to be close to release, they waiting to confirm licenses to show the content, they hesitate because that stream gone bad etc) are true, then why that "exclusive" preview and renato's posts about other previews existed?

when you go to a thread with 200+pages with hyped people who waiting and questioning, after a preview stream everybody watched and saying: "no worries guys more previews will come" you need to keep your promise. or say nothing if not sure.
i can understand that the release can not be scheduled but they cant even deal with the previews THEY promised? that's not nice. my opinion.
