Road to V1.6 Hype Train (cont.)

Hype train is shunted into sidings. Folks are now onto LMU and AC Evo.

 

Yeah, a game that in general has less players than AMS 2 even in its V1.5 state and one that has not been released yet. I am sure AC Evo will trump AMS 2 in player numbers, you do not have to be a genius to know it, V1.6 could be made out of gold and it would still happen.

Anyway, AMS 2 will have 0 players soon, you heard it here first, the end is nigh!

You know things are getting heavily off topic when just 5 days ago this was the image for the 1.6 hype train, and now today it's an image about AC Evo.

 

My question to those with access to 1.6 is, how is the feel of driving on the edge? I have never experienced that knife edge, balancing on a tight rope feeling from AMS2. The point where the car feels almost weightless. Can this point be reached, and maintained in 1.6?

 

With all this talk about correct tyre pressures, I am a bit 'scared' that just jumping into a quick race without a 30 minute practice session beforehand is gonna be very hit-or-miss, since pressures will change with weather and ideal pressures change from car to car (so I won't even know what to aim for). Is this at all a reasonable take?

 

Depends on the car

 

This is already true of v1.5 to be fair - track and weather conditions can make a big difference there too. V1.6 will have thermodynamics much more dialled in and cold slicks are less grippy for sure, so I guess it'll be less forgiving towards the extremes.

An interesting announcement, I think

 

Well, an uploaded video can be set to private or unlisted, and it doesn't have to contain any footage from 1.6..

 

So it’s not part of any dev updates. Unless I’ve missed it. So assume there are no updates about any changes to the night time lighting. Which even causes my 4090 in VR to struggle with only 1-2 cars behind me. Would love to have something simple like turning off the head lights behind me. Hopefully something for the future.

Is there by any chance the fix from headlights from cars coming behind inside the cockpit, specially visible in VR?
