I also need to chceck this... internally I need it to be true for both in and out lap, as it affects stuff like pace calculation (outlap is not considered for pace calculations). But for reports it should be possible to change it.

It should work. You just need to enable the championship functionality for MP in the options...

 

So I downloaded the application, but it is telling me I have install .net. I go to the download link, download .net, install it, restart my computer, and the application still says I need to install .net.

EDIT: Disregard. I repaired my .net installation and this seems to have worked.

I have an issue where Second Monitor won't launch, it shows as installed and icon appears in Windows but when I open the app nothing happens, tried admin mode, reinstalling etc. but still can't get it to work. Has anyone ever had this before?

for log.txt, and upload. There might be an error during start-up.

 

Thank you, I have found there is an error on startup in there, I will upload below...

 

Try to delete plugins.xml from the same directory. For some reason it is not valid, and application is crashing on startup because of that. It will be recreated.

I will fix it the next version, so it is automatically recreated also when not valid.

Is it possible to show in SM to show whether a race is ranked or not? After joining a race in AMS2 I can't see if it's ranked or not.

 

As far as I know, it is not possible to determine from the data if the MP session is ranked. There isn't really any direct information in the data that even directly indicate if it is a MP session.

On another topic, today update added teams championships. Currently sims that directly provide the teams are supported - R3E, ACC, F1 24. LmU should come in next update, as the team can be parsed from the car name.

Sadly, AMS 2 doesn't have any team concept, so it cannot be supported.

Since you introduced IsPitEntryLap and IsPitExitLap, it seems IsPitLap is not "true" anymore when the driver exit the pit. Also IsPitExitLap is always "false". Maybe a small bug.

I'm also wondering if you are still planning to include the drivers who left the race before the finish line in the output json files? No pressure... just to make sure my reports will improve in the future

Yes, it should come in next release. I have that already implemented internally. Disconnected drivers in races will be marked as DNF, and DNF drivers will be hidden from the map view.

Does the app not take into account time penalties. We had a recent race which dropped a driver to 5th with a 10 second penalty although second monitor still shows them 4th?

though this may be me reading wrong file - there is a "race line" file and a "race end" file - what is the difference?

 

line is the report created from the last data point before you crossed the finish line. This is generaly the last point where the data is reliable in all sims (i.e. some sims jump directly to a post-race screen, some stop delivering data altogether...). This will not have time penalties applied.

race end is when you exit the session - for sims where the data is reliable even after the finish line (like AMS 2), this one should be more accurate.

 

New version out

• Disconnected driver should now be tracked as DNF and should appear on reporst
• In championships there is no longer a limit on the maximum scored position, enabling scoring systems with more than 15 scored positions. I've also added IMSA scoring preset with 30 scored positions.
• For Manufacturer / Team scoring it is also now possible to choose IMSA style scoring, when only one driver scores to the championship, and the others drivers are also omitted from the overal standing.

 

Hi - following on from this answer we had another race this week and the excel output seems slightly off.

In the race i came second


The end file though says myself and first where joint first for some reason - if i am reading column A correct but the gap column shows a minus value from me - suggesting I was second


The line file does show the correct positions , but measures everything from me and not the winner?


Is this the expected way the results should be shown?

 

This one of the inconsistencies that happens with data after the race. Most likely the driver in front disconnected before you, and that most likely causes AMS 2 to shift reported position of all remaining drivers (the position in reports is taken directly from AMS 2 data).

In theory remembering the driver state when he crosses the finish line would solve that, but currently that is not implemented, and report is created from the state as it is at that time.

Yes, generally the app shows times in reference to the player. The idea is that player might be more interested in his gap to other drivers, rather than only his gap to the leader.

For inrace prediction it works, because only data from that session is used.
But for pre-race caluciation it is currently not ideal. The application doesn't have any concept of fuel multiplier, so if all its historic data, for the given track + car combo, are done with the same fuel multiplier, it works. But if there is a mix, then the before race predictions will be off (too much for 1x multiplier, too little for 2x).

On dev branch this is already improved, as fuel multiplier can be changed ( and is persisted for each class separately for convenience). So historic data can be properly scaled to the fuel multiplier the player is using.

 

so when the sim trips from say qualy to race and the prediction is given if i change the race time/laps to 2x 3x to mimic the fuel multiplier - then should that work for total fuel ?
