Second Monitor - Timing/Telemetry App

There is a overlay that shows the anount of rain or wetness of the track in a percentage based meter. Might be some obstruse left over in either the shared memory from PC2 or something but i dont know where it pulls it's data from.

Only did some amateurish testing and it seemed that the track was handleable with slicks up to about 20-23% of the scalar and then dropped rapidly in terms of drivability. Testing was conducted around initial 1.6 release.

Hi guys i'm seeing people here talking about use Second Monitor to extract session logs and results from races. I'm not finding these options anywhere, is some kind of plugin we have to use?

 

Interestingly, I had the same question this weekend. But you don't actually import any results into SM. In fact, you create a championship in it, there's a trophy icon for that, and you set up the calendar and scoreboard. Once that's done, you open SM, open the championship you created, access AMS2, create your race session, and it will identify that you're in the session you created... then just leave SM in the background and run your race normally... at the end, it will recognize and save the result.

Thanks for answer so quick! I'm wondering if there's some way to import the results to RaceApp for example, that's why i'm looking for a way to generate the session results file in a similar format of the dedi server of AMS2 does.

 

Go to settings and then "Reports", there you can select what sessions you want to generate reports for. To see old reports click the "Reports Folder" icon on the right of the main dashboard, they are in documents/second monitor/reports by default

 

Is anyone else getting crashes after latest update when trying to view championship results after a race? I rolled back update and get no crashes.

 

This app is absolutely amazing. I have a dedicated second monitor just for this app. I originally got this monitor to keep email up and help with bills etc but once I found SecondMonitor the app launches with windows and is up when the PC is up. I use it in-race for fuel and race info, I use the telemetry data too. I still haven't gotten the race results to work after a race but I'm working on it.

I can open telemetry from a past session just fine, it works perfectly. But I can't open results from a past session. I can click on the Open Reports Folder button, the reports are in there, but when I try to load them, SM is just blank. The Race End and Race Line files all do this. How can I view these?

 

I'm not sure it's you as I have just noticed this - the "race end" file has no data but the "Race line" has data but two files are created

 

Just to say I've been using this in VR with a free steam app called desktop plus, works great!

 

Pretty sure you can upload the race .json or .xml that second monitor makes to raceapp website

 

I just wanted to drop in and say thanks for this amazing app! The championship alone is better than the custom championships in AMS2 or RaceRoom. The amount of detail is amazing, the ability to look back on the race results, etc.. these don't exist in either AMS2 or RR.

I wanted to clarify because I am still a bit confused about championship mode.
If all I want is to run a championship (don't care about telemetry), can I turn off all logs and just run my races?
When running a championship, do I need to open the championship icon, then highlight the championship I choose, and leave this open while running the race? The instructions are not clear.
Sorry one more question. In the settings for timing grid. Refresh rate (default 300). Is this 300 ms?

Firstly, thank you so much for this application. It really is a fantastic addition to the toolbox.

Ref the video below, I noticed that the Turbo pressure in the app was fluctuating, even though the car is not fitted with a turbo. Am I being silly and missing something obvious?

Also, in this same race, I was given a drive-through penalty (un-justly, I may add lol), but when I came out of the pits from serving my drive-through, it had registered that my mandatory stop was complete (with 4 tyres, see video intro for full race setup), by reference of the green tick against my name in the timing screen. Unfortunately, I don't capture the timing screen, but the drive-through was my first visit to the pits and the green tick was definitely there for me. I would expect that to remain with the Cross icon until my proper stop had taken place.

 

This app has been crashing a bit for ne over the last month, has anyone else been having the same issue?

Hmm, I wonder what is going on at my end then, it has recently been crashing and sometimes ams2 then crashes but not always.

 

maybe something funny with drivers or the nvidia app.

I have a 4090 based system too and it kept crashing in hogwarts legacy when rt was on.
As soon as rt was turned off - stable.
It also outlived a ddu reinstall but suddenly disappeared after entering the beta branch of the app for the new dlss 4.5.

Tech is a odd and wild animal sometimes.

 

Yes, your not wrong there, great when it works, hate on it when it doesn't. I don't have the nvidia app installed, am waiting for it yo repkace the Nv control panel before i change over to it.
