So after 20-30 minutes of play suddenly the paddles and wheel face/buttons stop working. If you hit escape, then hit again, it will work for a few minutes then same thing. This started this year. Worked great before.
Only this game and Project open cars 2 do this. (same engine) Project cars does the same EXACT thing but fails much more quickly.
ACC, Drit 2.0, and all other games work perfectly. I have no mods.
Tried custom wheel set up's... nope. I can rebind everything from the ground up, same thing happens..
    Using Cammus C5 wheel.

I am also having this problem with my C5, It might be related to a problem with the wheel, but I agree, it seems that in AMS2 it happens more often. Not sure if I had the same problem in AC.

I have been advised to plug the wheel directly to the wall instead of to the extension lead. Since then It has only happened once to me.

Good luck .Thats how my issues started. Progressively got worse.
    I've tried EVERYTHING.
The fact it happens on two different PC's says it all. Cammus is making me send video proof.
We will see. I have low expectations they will do anything.
I recommend staying away from all things cammus.

Ok It happened again to me, this time in one of those races that was turning epic, until it happened. VERY ANNOYING!!!

I find very very strange that if you return to the pit, the paddles and buttons start working again. Normally (I think) If there is a driver or hardware issue... I dont think that something happening in game would fix it.So I think it is engine related. But only happens with the C5! Very frustrating.

I will mention this on the cammus discord.

Lately I have only been playing AMS2, are you sure it never happens in other games? I was starting to do Nurburgring laps on AC to see if it happened.

Cammus wheel fails in almost every racing game I have.
The only games that work 99% of the time is ACC and AC and Dirt 2.
Even these have connection issues. You can hear windows chime sound for device disconnect while playing.
Again: This is on TWO PC"s. same issues.

Here is the list, from worst to best.

American Truck sim, Fails almost immediately.
Project Cars 2.0, Fails almost immediately.
Forza Motor Sport. Fails 5-10 minutes.
Automobilista 2.0, Fails in 10-20 minutes.
    Wreckfest, Fails 10-20 minutes.

Wow. I'll keep track on mine I have to sort it out as my warranty is gone in one month or two.
I have also heard the usb chime before but interestingly enough it stopped , the only change I did was to connect the wheel directly to the wall and not using extension leads. Give it a try to see if it improves. Apparently these wheels are very sensitive to variations in voltage.

Again: does this on TWO PC"S.
One win 10 ,one win 11. Different homes.

Doesn't matter what usb port used. Tried all.
Doesn't matter if you use different usb cables. Tried many.
Doesn't matter what wall plug used. Tried, in 2 homes. All tested perfect btw.
Doesn't matter if C5 is plugged into UPS or not.
Doesn't matter if everything is unplugged from pc or not. Both pc's
Doesn't matter if reinstall windows....Same crap.
Doesn't matter if in Safe Mode or not.
Doesn't matter if you use usb isolator. Tried that.
Doesn't matter if everything is grounded or not.
Doesn't matter if you use ferrite chokes. Using that.
Doesn't matter if you buy an EMF detector to look for issues. There were none.

    It's not me. It's the C5.

UPDATE: All connection issues FIXED with Cammus latest software updates !!!!
Finally! I knew it wasn't my rig or something I was doing wrong.
They added new option to combine the wheel face and base into one unit. 2-in-1 option.
    This did the trick.
