Preview of a new default profile coming soon, open to feedback. Going for a very instagrammy feel on purpose Will probably tweak it a bit yet. To install download the txt file to the AMS folder \sweetfx\presets and then select the profile from AMS Config.
Looks a little bit too much washed out for my liking, but maybe because it's meant to be a "vintage" preset.
Honestly not a fan of the vintage preset. I drove it and it's OK but I don't imagine people will race with it. But who knows, maybe others will like it. Either way we all absolutely appreciate the efforts. I keep my game on that Borderlands2 preset shared previously on this thread. I like the very deep colors that it brings out in AMS. That one should be included with the game.
I love it and I will use it but it needs to lose that strong WHITE effect which kill my eyes... ...walls, cars, all the white color objects... are too strong, you will see also a sort of milky effect on the whole scene...would be great if we can mantain the color palette but whitout all this burning/milky white... ...btw... I said enough "white"?
The new update has destroyed sweetFX for me it looks like crap. I had a beautiful sweetfx setting which was a derivative from the borderlands one now its all washed out and looks terrible. SweetFX was not broken so why mess with it
Firstly I strongly disagree, but then there's nothing to stop you using your old profiles. And all the original profiles are still there.
Actually i just found the issue and to confirm it was not just me i checked with a friend online and he had the same issue. This is what happened, i made a sweetfx 2 months ago called tony.txt and shared it with friends. i also posted it in page 2 here and called it snipers.txt well i just checked my tony.txt and my friends tony.txt and all settings have completely changed. they look like they had been reverted to some default state. I have now redownloaded the one i posted here(which i am 100% sure was identical to the tony.txt) and all looks great again. so the update definitely changed my tony.txt which i had in the preset folders. I am not 99% sure sure of this , i am 100% sure of this
I'm not aware of any reason why it should modify settings that you have, as long as they are in a unique profile. The profile in use will have switched to the new default, but that's all.
yes it did switch to the default but i am sure it overwrote my tony.txt and as i stated i just checked with a friend and he had the same result. but its all good have redownloaded and its working fine thanks Alex, just wanted to make people aware in case they get any strange anomalies with their sweetfx
There's no Tony.txt in the repo, there's no logical way I can see that it can overwrite the file. So if it has, there's something bizarre going on.
we totally agree there, it was all washed out HDR went from 1 to 0 , bloom went from 1 to 0. bloody gremlins
I have a question more or less on this area. I use sweetfx turned off on my video configuration tool, with Anti Aliasing 8x Multisample. I dont like to mess with video card settings, and the default looks is quite good for me. But almost everytime I start the video configuration tool again, the Anti Aliasing is set to none, instead of 8x. And I have to keep repeating the process. I have no idea why, and how I can solve this.
Question about the sweetfx default setting. I have mine set to "disabled" via config however I get a bit of a blurry look when I load my game. So, I always push pause/break after I load my game and it then looks clear. I tried a brand new profile but it looks the same. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? This is what it looks like when I load the game with sweetfx=disabled. (a bit blurry) This is what it looks like after I push "pause/break" (very clear)
I finally sorted this out. I tried deleting all of the sweetfx files and verifying my game via Steam but the problem persisted. I ended up following the link in the readme and replaced the files with those from the link. Problem solved, no more blur when my game is loaded. SweetFX Shader Suite release and discussion thread #4
