Yes, from my own experience I can say that the cars feel much better if setup this way, but this costs laptime! The default with clutches on 6 is faster, you can test is for yourself. Just do some laps with the default setup, go to the pits and reduce the clutch to 2 and do some laps again.

On the overtake article: I don‘t think that bringing so much new content will help the game at the moment, I think there should be a monthly quality of life update.
I was very hyped for LFM, but I can‘t use it because of stutters and FPS drops (there is a thread on this forum about it) and so far not even a statement about this issue has been made. I won‘t buy new content if I can‘t use it.
Racing the AI (Player Vs Ai) is ok, not great, not terrible, but AI Vs AI is just bad (watch the replays of your AI races). They still struggle to overtake in multiclass races, they spin out in crazy places etc..

i dont own any DLC content but its not hard for me to be happy with your happyness.
    quite easy actually.
now how hard is for renato to be more realistic? rhetorical question...

as for the career mode, waiting for new content to be included before they release it means i need to actually buy all this content to play and complete this career mode?
i hope not, but then why i should wait for this new content to get it?
sorry for the stupid question, i hope renato will give us a hint on this...

"Meanwhile, further sorting out the AI is also on Reiza's agenda, as it is another critical element of the overall concept and the eventual career mode, as we highlighted in our recent article regarding AMS2's update frequency. This includes their strategy and also AI driver swaps, "and I think we're going to have some quite quick progress there in the next few weeks and months", said Simioni."

I expect the "months" part a lot more owing to, well...need I even say it? but this seems to imply that we'll be getting one of these more reasonably sized updates relatively soon which interests me. To speculate a bit, I predict mostly a fit and finish update but I wouldn't be surprised if it adds a few pieces from the pipeline of known content (crossing my fingers for that juicy GT1/LMP900 rep)

Why is there no official post on this forum?
This is some fruitful information but no words upon it here ...

Let's see how many complaints we'll get about not having new content in January. :)

Or maybe the F1 cars that Kubica drove?

Its nice to get more information from Renato but did anyone REALLY think that the team at Reiza was just going to release DLC? Sure things may not happen as fast as we want all the time but anyone that has been around for even a short time should have figured out by now that Reiza doesnt ignore issues. I dont think Renato could sleep at night...

Probably just giving Race Department / Overtake an "exclusive". Standard practice to ensure your announcement is prominently featured.

i’m not in any position to answer..
but previous experience shows us that Reiza are pretty generous and considerate when it comes to content.
I’m sure there will be plenty of free content in combination with DLC .

Some of it will possibly be needed to fill in the pathways they maybe want to have in Career. so you should be able to do Career mode as well as anyone with DLC , but you obviously won’t have as good options than if you had DLC . but that’s your choice at end of the day .

The article talking about how features like limited tires, towing and damage during practice / qualifying that needs repairing will be Optional, honestly i think in a simulator those things should be enforced, same with minimal damage being "performance/low", without any way to turn it off completely, same with mechanical failurs.

People want a simulator after all, no ? I am immediately thinking how such an awesome feature that will stop people from abusing their cars in practice / qualifying will again be turned off by majority of leagues because "it is not fair and people complain".

EDIT: With the amount of disagreements it goes to show people want a "simulator" and "realism" until they don't want it anymore o_O.

Yes, we shall force the peasants and they shall suffer! ;)

What's the harm if there's a choice? I'm sure some leagues will actually use it.

I think, and I am not the only one, the sim now needs polishing and QoL improvements. Content meanwhile is good, usually the issues are not with the content. The biggest issues are orthogonal to content.

In 1.5 Reiza had a cycle were Renato told us they focused in QoL improvements. That was good but not enough (I understand it was what it was, time and resources are finite). 1.6 physics and features started with a sim that had still many, many annoying quirks. I really could live with current physics forever. I know some people complains, but they will no matter what the changes are. What I want now is no need to restart before every race to avoid an fps drop in my second race, not being randomly british sometimes in the online lobby, being able to do a 2 hour race with the AI doing a reasonable strategy, being able to have fuel weight degradation impacting me similarly to them, being able to do a proper oval race, no floating lollypop men, etc etc.

I think Reiza understands where they are and the needs of the sim, I see this is exactly what they are doing now.

I guess it goes to show that people want only very limited realism in their realistic simulator, driving physics above absolutely everything. Well i'll tell you once those options come out how many that i am in actually decided to use any at all but my guess will be not many if any.

And how exactly is anyone suffering with car damage being enabled, or mechanical failures on so people cannot abuse 0% radiator opening ? I wonder if you argue the same "force the peasants and they shall suffer!" with default setups locking literally every existing setting that makes certain cars undrivable .

For the same reason we're not forced to run full-on race distances, we should not be forced to add elements we're not looking for in our experience.
It's a videogame, no matter the air of pretentiousness that one can throw around it using the word "simulator", and as such, everyone is entitled to make their own fun out of it.
