The Feature Request Thread...

To be honest I would need a siren and flashing lights for me to notice.

For those of us using crew chief having Jim tell us to check our wheel position would be helpful.

 

Please fix your v1.6 menu , they're a step back.

Look at Project Cars 2. Every single menu option is accessible from the wheel controls, either via wheel dpad or buttons.
Now with v1.6 I have to use a mouse to access the options menu when I didn't have to previously. I'm in VR on a motion rig. I have a headset on. I don't have a mouse near me.
The "back" button, why can't I step back towards the main menu with it? I have to select the option I want from the menu to go backwards. Why?

The car selection. I have no idea what is going on with it. I press up / down and it moves up and down. I press left / right and sometimes it selects the car I want, other times it doesn't do anything at all and I have to fiddle about randomly pressing directions in order to get to the left or right side car selection.
You've designed the whole menu system around a mouse in a game where people use a wheel or game pad?
Please fix it - along with the other menu weirdness like not being able to select a different weather with the dpad once you've selected "hazy" and ran a race

 

I would like to be able to use the presets introduced with 1.6 to make a custom championship. It seems such a wasted feature to use only for single races.

 

100% agreed.

This, 48 car grid (or max available based on Track selection), and the ai wet skill slider are needed for custom championship.

 

New particles oclusion (rain) is nice, no more rain inside closed cockpit or through terrain, but need some work, because other cars blocks almost all particles when at some angle, and the result is really ugly in VR, much worse than original one even with some flaws.

 

Allow us to rebind the menu functions to whatever we want PLEASE. don't just automatically bind the menu functions to known wheels you're making this 10000x harder than it needs to be. Just let us bind the menu to whatever we want. That way we can use our wheels in VR

 

Paste functionality in the MP filter to paste LFM/RCO lobby name and separate search box instead of going into the filter menu for just searching by name.

Deeplink to the MP lobby directly from integrated MP services.

 

Because we have Audi in the Group A DTM class, why not bring some tracks that have also hosted DTM? Salzburgring I dream to see!

More than a feature is an idea. Watching the new Senna series, got me thinking, inside the upcoming Career mode it would be nice to have something like “Senna: Road to F1”. Taking into account that Reiza is Brazilian, maybe you guys would have the connections to replicate the rest of the cars like Formula 4 and so on. I know it is a huge thing, but it can become a selling point also.

 

Two things after a few hours with the (excellent) update:

1. Please add the ability to edit / hide presets, to reduce clutter and speed up selection if the user has no interest in car classes X, Y, Z.

2. When I run a multi-class race, and jump to the end of qualifying, even though it says "simulating outcome", the final grid is ridiculously mixed, with GT3 at the front, some GTPs at the back. Chaos with the AI in the first few laps. This needs to be improved.

Otherwise, excellent update!

 

Would be great to be able to speed up qualifying and practice time without skipping!

 

Still no ALT (alternate) gear up/down binding?

I hope this will be addressed one day

 

Low hanging fruit:
Ability to save a "Custom Race" with all its settings to the file system, and load any previously saved "custom race". File format should be human readable (CSV, JSON, XML, ...)

Reason: For people like me who want very specific settings for some single player race (weird multiclass, weather, session lengths etc), it's really annoying to fiddle around for minutes until I can race again in a custom race that I did previously.

 

The HUD adjustments are gone with v1.6. In the past, once in a race, I was able to activate/deactivate elements of the HUD

 

I can do it just the same as before 1.6
Just by clicking on the dark area next to where it says "level".

 

Would love to see whistling brake sound for cars (especially for porsche 911 gt3 cup cars)

 

I second that, also preset races setting should be saved so you can switch between presets GT3,IMSa,etc without doing session settings, weather settings, again and again...which take some time and energy, Imho as user experience features it should be a priority as it devaluate the fresh preset system feature introduced in 1.6.

 

Random weather progression

It would be SUPER INTERESTING if there was another weather progression option with random durations for each weather track.

Similar to Sync to Race, where all weather tracks would occur, but with a random duration between them.

This seems to make more sense to me, to be more realistic and unpredictable, and to seem like something simple to implement.

The Real Time and Sync to Race options allow drivers to know exactly when the weather will change, and thus strategize based on that, losing much of the fun of the possible racing situations.

 

I'm sure this has been asked a million times already but please allow menu controls to be bound to other keys/devices. How is this still not implemented?
