The Feature Request Thread...

I hope you guys are aware that now players will demand a new car pack with more 'regular' street cars to act as obstacles on track.

We have a lot of hyper- and super cars, but "if everyone's super, no one will be!" - Syndrome (The Incredibles, 2004)

 

I would love to have a car pack with regular street cars!

 

I'll put my hands up and say that I don't want this but then I'm not a Nordschlieffe kinda guy anyway.

If its only for traffic might as well add mod cars as it wouldn't matter how they handle or sound.

 

You are right. Automobilista 2 calls itself a Motorsports Simulator - adding daily drivers to the mix would be nice-to-have but this scenario is quite niche and the devs should focus their ressources on race cars instead of becoming the next Gran Turismo or AC Evo.

Firstly, hello reiza team & thank you for making this game what its become.

So basically, I think adding some sort of "Recent" or "Currently browsing" player invite list that new lobby hosts could use in order to fill up brand new lobby's would increase overall player count online. As well as a option to not receive such notifications, or just implemented in a way that doesn't make it annoying to receive tons of invites [since it would probably occur a good bit due to the amount of people who create new lobby's]. Currently we have to wait until people join a session manually and I've noticed its hard to get people to join new or low player count lobby's due to this. I don't think its cause of the way they setup the race sessions either since most of them are setup the same as how the more populated ones from what I've seen. Every now and then a ripple effect will occur where 1 person will join a new lobby with low player count, then shortly after a few more until its a decent size but it rarely occurs. I've also noticed that there's almost always a good amount of lobby's with just 1 person sitting in them and having to scan through each lobby to see whether its in a joinable state/compatible dlc wise or not is kind of tedious which detracts from the server browser, since sometimes it isn't fully updated, and when u try to join a lobby that seemingly is in practice or quali its already started a race.

I apologize if this has been requested already I just didn't know what to search for in order to find a topic about this since its kind of a niche suggestion, but I think it would make a noticeable impact on overall experience of trying to host race sessions and online player count. If we want to get pedantic (and who doesn't?!), you could make a case for setting production car lap records being a form of motorsport.

That being said, I also get where you are coming from. Given the new road cars have existing racing car variants in-sim already, I can't imagine it took too tremendous an effort to get them done.

I am also a bit biased here as that Viper is one of my favorite production cars of all time.

It is better just understand that not every single DLC made for a game is made for you.

And i would also disagree it being "niche scenario" since regularly when i looked through the server browser i found MANY "multiclass" 24 hour practice sessions of the Nurburgring and having the maximum amount of classes available, with people doing trackday sessions.

 

This is awesome, looking forward to trying the new stuff. Always a treat!

As for desired features:
1) I would LOVE to see server host settings to be able to be saved and quick loaded. It's seemingly such a small thing but it would save so much time.

2) Fixing it so there is no need to quit and rehost to see all track options, like speedland for example.

3) TT leaderboards for all track/car combos, even if they are silly.

4) Dirt tyres for more vehicles. On the wishful thinking side: Snow and snow tyres for vehicles.
