I think the ability to change controls sets while in a multiplayer lobby would be excellent. I think i've suggested this 3 times now but still worth posting for visibility.
It's annoying having out of the lobby to change control sets if you're swapping from your round wheel to a GT wheel, etc.

    -----

I think a minor but useful UI change / behaviour change, when you try to join a multiplayer lobby and it's full (for example) or you can't join due to missing DLC, when you hit ok, it boots you back to the main menu instead of back into Multiplayer. A small flaw that could be fixed easily, imo.

    Dear Reiza Team,

First of all, I would like to thank every single person at Reiza Studios for creating what has become a favorite racing simulator.

I have been sim racing for a year now and have spent countless hours in different titles, but Automobilista 2 is the one I always come back to. The driving experience, force feedback, weather system, track selection, engine sounds and the passion you continue to put into the project make AMS2 something truly special. It deserves every bit of success it has achieved, and I sincerely hope it will continue to grow for many years.

With that in mind, I would like to share a few suggestions that I believe would help preserve the long-term enjoyment and health of the multiplayer community.

    1. Please fix the “invisible players” issue in multiplayer.

This is, in my opinion, one of the most important remaining multiplayer problems.

It can happen that players who join the server after you have entered the session simply do not appear on track until you return to the pit lane. This is especially frustrating on Nordschleife track day servers, where long uninterrupted stints are common. It breaks immersion and can create confusion or even dangerous situations when cars suddenly appear after a pit stop.

If there is one multiplayer issue I would prioritize, it would be this one.

    2. Allow players to mark servers as Favorites.

AMS2 now has many excellent community servers, but finding the same ones every day can become unnecessarily time-consuming.

A simple “Favorite Server” function with a dedicated filter in the server browser would make it much easier to reconnect to the communities we enjoy racing with. It is a small quality-of-life feature that could make multiplayer feel much more accessible.

    3. Please consider a JGTC / Super GT Legends Car Pack.

This is more of a personal wish than a feature request, but I believe many sim racers would be excited about it.

The golden era of Japanese GT racing produced some of the most iconic racing cars ever built. A JGTC pack featuring legends from manufacturers such as Nissan, Toyota and Honda would perfectly complement AMS2’s already fantastic historic content and would introduce another unique era of motorsport that is underrepresented in modern simulators.

Finally, I simply want to say thank you.

It is obvious that Automobilista 2 is a project built with passion, and as someone who spends countless hours on the Nordschleife, I genuinely appreciate the work that goes into every update.

I hope AMS2 continues to evolve for many years to come, and I sincerely believe that improvements like these would make an already outstanding simulator even stronger.

If Automobilista 2 has taught me one thing, it is that a racing simulator can still be built with passion. I truly hope AMS2 continues to inspire sim racers for many years to come.

Thank you for listening, and thank you for everything you do.

    Kind regards,
A passionate AMS2 racer who loves it af

Hi Reiza Stuios, and Automobilista community!
Turn 8 on the current layout of the Adelaide Street circuit is a very fast, dangerous, and narrow corner. In real life, Motorsport Australia has implemented a special rule for that corner stating that NO overtakes under any circumstances are permitted, and that the car that is infront 200 meters (I think) before the corner has priority and the trailing car MUST backoff. The reason that I bring this up is that in Automobilista 2, this rule does not exist and has ruined several of my races because cars are trying to over take or I'm being lapped by a faster class, resulting in me usually having a totalled car. If its possible, can this rule be implemented within the next update or hotfix?

    From Declan =)

Can we have a unified "save" button.
I can't use a mouse on my rig. I can't because it has motion, so I control the entire game menu via a small macro keypad next to the wheelbase using the games shortcuts. There are currently 3x different save buttons which depend on what menu you're in.

[Enter] saves / starts race in most instances when focussed on the correct icon. But can't move to certain menu positions with cursor keys control.

[Esc/Del] backs out of current menu page and saves in most menus. But it doesn't save in race time/weather menu. It doesn't save in AI and car setup menu. It doesn't save in Livery menu.

[Right Shift] Is quick-start race. It negates having to move the cursor to the START button. It is also the only button which saves in the Race time setup, Car Livery and AI setup menu.

If you make changes in weather/car/ai setup menu and click the incorrect save button then you just back out the menu without any changes being applied.

    Can you sort this please.

I think this is very basic, but I also think it is missing. White flag signaling the start of the last lap. Especially in timed races you never know if its the last lap or not depending on when the leader crossed the line.

Dear Reiza thanks for this amazing Sim, could we please have:
    1. an option to set z-axis of menus board in VR to set it further back
    2. hide the menus board while on grid waiting for race to start in multiplayer

A way to either choose if we want a car to have endurance lights or for the game to detect if an event will take place in the dark or not so we can automatically get endurance lights or not. Will make liveries match more series since some don’t even do endurance (DTM is a good example)

It would be exciting to introduce an additional weather slot.
What I have in mind hasn't been considered by any simulation so far. It’s about "fake rain."

The exciting thing about rain is seeing those first few drops on your skin or the windshield. You find yourself wondering: Is it about to rain? Will it be heavy? Will it be brief or prolonged? Everything is uncertain.

In simulations, however, the icons tell you exactly what to expect next. Unfortunately, that makes it far too predictable. In real life, it is almost impossible to accurately predict the weather when it comes to rain.

The HUD might indicate "light rain" as the upcoming weather slot, but the "fake rain" could manifest as just a few scattered drops—sometimes more, sometimes fewer—before tapering off again. It might be a small feature, but it would elevate the concept of rain probability to a whole new level.

Yes , sometimes called "psychological rain" as it doesn't really affect car performance as much as driver performance.

Yes, exactly. That describes it perfectly.
It might not sound all that exciting, but in a scenario where it actually rains and then stops, a spell of "fake rain" in between could lead to the wrong decision to pit for a tire change.

At the moment, we know exactly what will happen.

Would be great to have an option in the force feedback menu to reload a custom ffb file. That way, we can change custom ffb files without having to restart ams2.

Or have a set folder for all the custom FFB files and just allow us to scroll through them all

    Speaking of rain...
We urgently need an optional red flag feature. Some situations are completely undriveable.

In real life, a race would be paused or stopped with a red flag. In sim racing, it turns into an action-adventure game.

It would be also good to have just wet conditions basically direct after the rain.

Do forgive me for what may seem like a very demanding list, this is pretty much all I want that are mostly QOL changes with some additions being new content. Either way, aboulste love the game already as it is clocking in over 450 hours and all DLC bought.

    - Light up the streets of Monaco and long beach and ovals like Daytona so we can do night races. Daytona bustop chicane needs more light as well.

-I really wanna hear the 5 bolt whirs noises when pitting the stock cars. Literally the only thing missing for me personally with pitstops.

    - a way to implement BOP within the game instead of XMLwhatever or sliders, or restrict cars with not-authetic assists with BOP. I know it's easier said than done.

-in the ICM, can we have specific tyre pit changes like how LMU does, during the race we can only change all tyres to specific compound as opposed to front softs and medium rears, mainly for the endurance cars.

    - historical 60s front engines and lotus IndyCars with historical indy as well. That way we can still have lotus open wheelers. Would make fine addition to a 60s championship mode. Same goes for Daytona to compliment the USA Stock gen 1 cars.

-While we're at it, would love a 1978 long beach to compliment the 70s f1 cars. Really want an American historical track that's significantly different like how hockenhiem and spa have. Same with Fuji, would love Fuji and its banking historical counterpart.

-red flags for races. Like how the f1 games do it, we just skip to the part where we are ready to race again. That would be awesome, especially for wet races. Or we just wait it out with a timer or something, whatever works.

-if there is a solution, allow multi class racing that have custom liveries. We're not able to do classes we select because custom liveries are involved. Not necessarily a troubleshoot post just a pointer.

-the ability to choose specific cars and custom curate a race like AC CM. This is mainly for like a 1v1 generation race or a 10 car race with each car representing a year or series. Like if I wanted to use a F-HyrbidGen3 car with red bull livery vs a f-V8 gen 1 car with a red bull livery, or have a f1 car vs IndyCar vs nascar vs rallycross vs trucks etc. rather than random reps from each class after selecting classes.

Thank you for your time to read and all the hard work you have done for us to bring us the quintessential loverletter to motorsport in videogames. Cannot wait for the rest of the updates in 2026 and beyond.

Windscreen should be cleaned during a Pit Stop

I did a one-hour race at Road Atlanta with time progression set to 25x (simulating a full 24h race). My windscreen got dirtier and dirtier until it looked really dark on the sides. The attached picture is from around 45 minutes in.
IMO, this should be cleaned during a Pit Stop, just like crews do in real life. The dirt build-up is immense and really distracting!

A few things that have crossed my mind:
    • It would be nice to have a vote to skip practice or qualifying sessions when everybody is satisfied or there's only one person in the lobby
    • Copying the tyre pressures from the setup to the pit strategy with a single click, instead of having to adjust each tyre manually for each strategy
    • Some way for players driving to participate in votes without having to stop and open the escape screen
    • An audible "session advanced" bell, so players that have gone AFK during a practice or qualifying session know the next one has started

And for people still using headtracking, like myself:
    • Increasing the range of motion to more than 90 degrees, especially in cars without head protection built into the seat
    • Make headtracking available in more cameras, like bonnet, bumper and roof
    • Locking the "look behind" camera in place, so it's not moved by headtracking

    I play HUDless.
Extending the voice information over the basic car to the left / right etc to include lap number and race position each time you start a new lap would be nice.

(posted elsewhere but feel it's relevant in this thread)
I still believe a Slider for "Max Visible Vehicles" is better than just a round number, running at night I had the car directly behind be kept disappearing thus his headlights kept going ON/OFF and it was immersion breaking. By having a slider I/we can better determine how may cars are visible around us to make those scenarios "stick" so to speak.

So for example if I have a Slider set to 8-4 I have 8 cars in front and 4 cars behind me visible at all times, the idea of a slider is so that can be tweaked accordingly so in heavy GPU/CPU scenarios like Rain/Night you can have 10-2 for example.

Also the setting overall still requires some tweaking as to what cars it renders; For example driving past the Pits the cars on track in front/behind pop-in and out of view as you pass cars in their pit bays, the ideal scenario should be that the Pit lane cars are ignored in favour of the on track cars.

That actually seems to be a bug with the game. Certain tracks have specific corners where the car behind will disappear always at the same place for the same distance. Try looking at it again if you spot what place the car behind disappears at and report it on the bug section.
