You can find it for less (3,500.00 reals) but it would not be a direct purchase. It would involve "another person" who would carry out the import with lower cost of taxes.

I don't mean to keep on about this but, R3E VR support is excellent as a first pass. From what I understand it is DX9, and that is why they use Steam VR instead of Oculus support. I read that Steam VR will support DX9 for a long, long time.

I tried to test R3E in VR but, wasn't able to get it working - and yes, through Steam VR. To my knowledge, I had setup all the necessary parameters for launch. Any tricks to it?

I just followed this with no issues.

    - In your Steam client library, right click RaceRoom and select "Properties".
    - In the Properties pop-up window, under the "General" section, click the "Set Launch Options..." button.
    - In the dialog box that opened, just type in "-vr" (without the quotation marks) and it will use the default value for render target multiplier, which we currently have set to 1.5.
    - To experiment with different render target multipliers, you can simply add the desired value after the argument, for example: "-vr 2.0" will start the game with the multiplier at 2.0. This multiplier can go as low as 0.5 and as high as 4.0 which is very high, so we recommend small steps here.

Yep, I did that; I don't recall the exact issue but, either the game wouldn't load properly or the images were all scrambled in the HMD. I'll have to try again - thanks. :)

rF2 finally gets VR-Support in may. Meanwhile Reiza is telling us still fairytales about DX9 support.

circumstances developed both in the VR front (the evolving nature of this new technology, specifically DX9 no longer being officially supported by OR which effectively moved the goal posts from when we had proposed it) as well as our own (a developer leaving the team),

Steam VR supports DX9 without problems.
A developer leaving? Ask Raven or Keygetis and offer them money.
They could develope VR Support for AMS within a few days.

Sometimes you have to ask for help from real coders, if you´re not able to do the job.;)

Well it is unfortunate that AMS isn't going to support VR. It does seem like in this day and age it would take a guy working on it fulltime maybe a couple weeks, but who knows.

Too bad because I guess the work they have done on AMS as of late is amazing.

Hopefully Reiza 17 will arrive with VR support at launch! Reiza 17+VR with AMS physics and FFB would probably make it the sim to beat.

In the meanwhile I have really been loving R3E.

My bet is that Reiza 17 will support VR. In my dreams Reiza 17 has the same physics and content as Automobilista with slight improvements here and there plus VR support as a cherry on top. Perhaps it will be more, who knows?

To put some mor salt in the wound: PiBoSo has released his Kart Racing Pro sim on steam.
It works with DirectX Version 8.1 and guess what? It has VR Support.
I really like Reiza but the missing VR Support is just ridiculous........
