I haven't been able to download it yet, but I think it's just a skin and helmet pack? don't really need CM or JSGME.

Looks like a skin and AI pack for the V10 Gen1s? With 300MB the package is a bit small for models, skins and all IMO. Could be wrong tho.

Edit: Looks more like the mod pack uses the V10 Gen1 as it's vehicle but adds the 1996 season seperately and each team has its own entry in the car list, like the Indycar 2023 mod had.

There is no entry in the driveline.rg file beacuse the car itself is already in the game as stock content.

Sorry to disappoint but that is just the generic FV10-Gen 1 car with skins for 1996 as a separate series. I still find it cool. The more classic F1 seasons to replicate the better for me but it's probably not what you're hoping for.

We've all got to start somewhere with this journey...

Now that this is out there, another fan might see this and go "hell I could make the models for it" then all that needs to be done is tweaking the physics for each car... And with what I'm doing with vanilla mods people will see that is possible and will want to do it...

All little baby steps... Just wait until we get proper documentation and translations for the hex codes involved... Then the barriers holding other modders back will disappear...

You'll see a lot more of this type of mod coming out as skinners realise that this is the way to get the most out of their skins... All of the limitations and hassles that they've complained about in the Livery overrides thread are gone... Aside from actually editing their skins...

Can someone explain what hex code is and why it’s bad?

Hex editing is needed to work on a lot of files for modders because they are encrypted in binary language

    Chassis file for dev:

    Chassis file for modders:

So it's way more complicated! you need a very good translation to work on this

So if Reiza remove hex code for modders they will be able to make good mods quicker and easier?

That all sounds very interesting, could be exciting times ahead on the modding front then.

Yes! Installed the 1996 mod and aside from the Pedro Diniz typo, the skins are all very high quality and having the class separate is great, makes it much more manageable to have different skins sets for the same car class.

Also didn't know you guys could separate different skins for different tracks automatically now, that's pretty neat.

It's been this way since Reiza introduced these track overrides as they don't appear to be in the pCARS files...

It's why their various skins work without having to switch anything...

These are the current skins for the V8 Supercars classic pack mod with the different engine sounds I'm putting together... Plus the entire 2003 season pack as I've got permission from the skin maker to add them in as well...

    GRM Volvo
    DJR Shell Helix Ford
    DJR Jim Beam Ford
    Glen Seton Ford Credit Racing
    Allan Moffat Ford Works Team
    888 Vodafone Ford
    BJR black Ozemail Ford
    00 Gibson Motorsports Ford
    Nissan Racing Retro #23
    Nissan Racing Retro #78
    Jack Daniels Nissan
    Norton Hornets Nissan
    Winfield Racing Nissan
    IRWIN Racing Mercedes
    SP Tools Racing Mercedes
    Solar Australia Mercedes
    Bottle-O Retro #52D
    Mitro 10 Ford
    Pepsi Max Racing
    Harvey Norman Land Speed Retro
    Harvey Norman Retro 78
    **** Johnson Tru Blu
    Larry Perkins 1997 Castrol
    Marcus Ambrose Pirtek
    Greg Murphy Kmart
    Peter Brock Marlboro 78
    Tomas Mezera 1993

The long term plan is to have a few working versions when you install... The Classics would contain most of the iconic skins so you can race against all of them and then there'd be a 2003 season class added outside of those files... And then hopefully we can entice some model builders into creating car and year specific models from there...

To start with the first full release of this mod will have the classic version set up...

I'm hopefully going to have 6 or 8 of them on track... Although they were only in the series for a handful of years...

Brilliant news that, and all the ones you have planned its going to be an exciting year ahead, one question do you plan on making more liveries for the sprint car ? That car could do with some great liveries.

    Thanks

Atm I'm planning a few more BMW liveries as well as converting all of the RWD liveries from my BTCC Mini pack... Happy to have people add their work to it as well and any suggestions are welcome...
