    Hi all,

I've been building a tool called TheTenths and AMS2 is its primary sim — it's where most of the development time has gone, so this forum is where I'd most like the feedback.

It's a small Windows client — a third-party app, not a mod — that reads AMS2's shared memory and does three things with it.

    1. Talks to you while you drive

Corner by corner, spoken aloud: braking points, and where you're losing time relative to best lap. Braking cues come as either a spoken call or a beep countdown into the zone — some people get on with one and not the other. There's a separate pit-wall voice for lap times, tyre state, session time and laps remaining, and volume control so you can turn the whole thing down mid-stint.

To be precise about what it's comparing against: your own best lap and a chosen reference lap.

    2. Logs hotlaps automatically
Every valid lap goes up with sector times while you drive — no screenshots, no manual submission. Filterable by track, car, sim or driver.

    3. Shows you where the lap went afterwards
    • A time-delta trace across the full lap against a reference.
    • Your racing line on the track map, with the biggest time losses marked where they actually happen.
    • Speed, throttle, brake, steering and gear overlaid against the reference lap.
    • Ranked time-loss spots with a plain reading of each — "braking too early, +0.4s" — rather than leaving you to interpret the traces yourself.

    Setup
The client reads the $pcars2$ shared memory block (v14), so it needs shared memory switched on in AMS2:

Options → System → Shared Memory → "Project CARS 2"

The older "Project CARS 1" ($pcars$) format is handled as a fallback if that's what you're already running for something else.

Then: make an account on Sim Racing Hotlaps, Voice Coaching, Track Analysis & Setup Advisor — TheTenths, copy the API token, run the client, paste it in. Single .exe, no installer, updates itself. There's a .zip fallback if your browser objects to the download.

Other sims are supported — Assetto Corsa EVO, Assetto Corsa and iRacing — but AMS2 is the one I test against first and most.

What it touches, and what it doesn't
Nothing goes into the game folder. No files are modified, no process is hooked, no installer runs. It reads the shared memory block AMS2 already publishes once you switch it on, and that block is the only thing it takes from the game.

On multiplayer: I've built this for practice and hotlapping and that's where I'd point you. Everything it says comes from your own car — it can't see anyone else's telemetry, and it isn't reading anything the game doesn't already hand to any shared memory client. If the view here is that live coaching doesn't belong in a race session, I'd rather hear that in this thread than find out sideways.

    On CrewChief
Worth saying up front since most of you already run it: this isn't trying to replace CrewChief and the two work fine side by side. CrewChief is a spotter and race engineer — flags, incidents, what's around you. This is realtime coaching and post-session analysis — what you're doing with the car and what it's costing you. Different jobs.

    Where it's at
It's free and in testing. I'm after honest feedback more than signups — particularly on the AMS2 side, since that's where the telemetry handling is most developed and where wrong readings would be most obvious to you. If the coach calls something stupid mid-corner, I'd like to know which corner and which car.

Here's what it sounds like in the car — worth the audio being on for this one, since that's most of what the tool is:

Thanks for reading — and if it tells you something about your driving that's plainly wrong, please say so in this thread.
