    How fast do rpm rise?
Are they increasing slowly or very fast?

It's strange that sensitivity settings have no impact ...

Sudden from low to full throttle half way, this is what I mean with the on/off switch.
So you can't smoothly adjust the throttle, which is possible in other simulators.

You mean the throttle bar in the hud jumps from half-way to 100% when you are half way in your pedal travel? Or that you feel the engine is getting 100% throttle even though the you are half way of the travel and the hud shows still also 50% throttle?

(EDIT: and do you see this behavior also during in-game pedal calibration, that the red bar jumps to 100% when you are half way?)

    And what pedals you have?

    ----

Also I just have to link this often referred video here:

Which basically shows that many sims have it "wrong" and few have it more correct where you can get almost 100% torque at 60% throttle already that goes down with revs increasing (depending on car).

but because you are also saying you have issues with also braking, that kinda sounds more like some driver/game incompability or something like that.

That's realistic behaviour. Every car I've ever driven will go to redline long before the throttle reaches full travel. The more power, the more likely it is to be happening with less throttle input.

Throttle input should not match RPM, that's not how cars work. Manipulating the throttle adjusts the air/fuel mixture going into the engine, which directly affects the amount of torque the engine is producing. If the engine isn't under any load (e.g., not in gear, or the clutch is engaged) then you will very quickly overcome the natural friction of the engine and hit redline.

In AMS2, when you're coming out of trailbraking, or applying early throttle in lower gears in high-powered cars (e.g., GT1, Group C, Super V8, Formula 1) then you need to really very lightly feather the throttle pedal so that you're not sending bucketloads of power to the driven wheels.

Here are a few video examples showing real-life throttle inputs:

It’s been a long road to get where I am now. At first, I spent a lot of time working on the AMS2 software, and later on the Simsonn pedal settings with a lot of trial and error but finally I can brake without locking up and accelerate without too much wheel slip. I have made a personal S-Curve for the throttle and brake stays lineair and I have fine-tuned the pedal positions, and now I’m consistently clocking 2.00.400 lap times on the Nürburgring Velo with the GT2 Ferrari Now it’s time to build up some solid muscle memory that will it’ll take some time, but I’ll get there.

For precisely this reason, I strongly recommend setting the brake sensitivity to 20–50% (depending on the pedal curve settings and the pedals being used). This is even more apparent with throttle sensitivity; here, it is advisable to reduce the value in any case—regardless of the vehicle setup or your pedal curve settings.:) If your pedals do not offer this option, it is advisable to reduce both values.

To me, that also sounds like an incorrect configuration in AMS2. It’s as if buttons had been assigned to the pedals instead of axes.

It is only realistic behaviour if 50% pedal travel results in 100% engine power if the driver has set it up that way. This isn't standard on all cars, let alone racing cars. In no way are commercial cars set up that way by default for example, that is complete lunacy and would cause a lot of problems (on the road and engine durability wise). I also highly doubt race drivers would set up such a radical short pedal travel as it gives so little room for naunced pedal control. For example some F1 drivers use 10% deadzone on engine throttle and reach full power at 80% input. Entirely personal.

AMS2 literally gives you the option to match physical input with the game's input for this exact reason but it is bugged; end of story. I have the same issue as OP. I have to calibrate my throttle pedal every single time and set sensitivity to 0 (not 50!) to get a 1:1 match.

This has nothing to do with the game being 'realistic'.

You can easily try it yourself. Just put your own car in neutral while it's standing still and gently press the throttle. After a few seconds, you'll see the revs keep climbing until they hit the rev limiter. I drive a Nissan Pulsar and it works.

This might sound like an unnecessary suggestion but has the OP ever thought about deleting the “Automobilista 2” folder in “Documents” (or My Documents?) and then restarting AMS2? Unfortunately, this means you'll have to reconfigure everything in the options, but it might solve the problem. It might be worth a try.

I mean i agree a bit. With gt3, the braking technic is different from every other sim. I can’t use the typical trail braking or the rear will spin : Brake late and turn the wheel as soon as the brake is at 100%. Instead, i brake at 100% in a straight line. and then decrease the pressure and turn slowly the wheel when i almost release the brake pressure
I always need to adapt with the technic when i switch to ams2. But its fine

Set your engine braking to a high value (which actually reduces engine braking) and it should resolve this issue for you :)

It's only bugged for you and one other person. If you need to recalibrate your throttle every time you load the game there is something else going on, and if it was a bug in the game then it would be happening to everyone. It's possibly a permissions issue, or something to do with where the settings are being saved. If you have OneDrive active, for example, that is known to cause problems (and not just with AMS2).
