The street cars any of them are just weird. These cars shouldnt break traction like they do in the game. The Ultima and the Vette can do 0-60 in less then 3 seconds irl. Yet in the game the minute you touch the throttle the tires spin. Ultima has a video testing 0-60 and he didnt baby the car during the testing(you can see the tach) and it just hooks and goes same for the Vette tons of videos. Ive had cars that could do block long burnouts and been in cars doing 100mph still spinning the tires and they just dont behave like in the game. Best way i can explain it is the cars in the game feel like you either have traction or dont with no in between. No company on the planet builds cars that want to kill you.

Well, I can see lot of youtube videos with super cars crashing on the exit of a gas station just pressing the throttle a little higher than normal xD. Super cars are like motorbikes, killers machines.

Yes because they shouldnt own them and have no clue. Most are caused by somebody doing something stupid.Like not realizing the crown in the road is going to turn the car when the tires spin. They arent killer machines on their own just stupid people.

And this is what I meant with being d***ck. The discussion subject is excellent and I understand why many of us would be interested in it, but the attitude and the underlying tone of the user is just negative and rude overall.

Care to say what exactly was "rude" in that reply?...

Probably the bit where you implied that no one at Reiza was professional or had the right credentials to develop physics.

This is what I meant by my end goal question. You obviously don't respect the devs or trust them to fix the physics to your standard so go and play a game developed by someone that meets your standards? But if you're here after 3 years there must be some aspects of the driving you do enjoy and find realistic?

    Welcome to the internet. :D

In general I think a discussion about physics and the ops question is valid. However it quite quickly escalates. Would be nice to witness a vital discussion about that theme among grown ups who can give arguments and don't tend to act bigheaded.

Keep it coming, keep it civil, please. After all it is a interesting topic.

Yea, I think the discussion is valid and interesting.

Unfortunately I lack any knowledge to feel comfortable giving any input to it, so I just read.

However, sometimes it sure does feel like there is a hand of god acting when handling some open wheelers.

Just to add, telling people to go do their job, calling them "professional" etc... It is all over the several posts from that user. He is just asking questions to challenge Reiza. The way the message is being delivered, imo shows the end goal is not to help make Ams2 a better game, but to challenge the developers and maybe get noticed by them by showing off his "supposed" skills as a modder.

Haha that is so funny. I don't need to be "noticed" by reiza... they would never hire me, Renato doesnt like people who criticize him in the slightest, dont worry, that is not what i am looking for nor what i would ever want. But i see the army of apologists is now descending upon me for daring to ask unconfortable questions.

I didn't imply that at all. I was answering to the condescending tone to my inquires by one of their members of staff who according to himself, is only a small piece of the team. And yes, i have the right to be surprised by that, as i think anyone would be. Or are you going to tell me that when this stuff is coming to light, about hands of god and oval dir tracking and all sorts of other issues, that the physics team is doing a good job?

As for what i enjoy or like, i already explained. I know what the madness engine is capable of. I have tried better builds than the current one. My questions were clear and concise and clearly explained. I tried to get somewhere with steelserv, who is not even one of the physics devs, but all i got was dismissive remarks about my knowledge of the matter. So excuse me for not wanting to entertain that totally useless exchange.

Agreed . I think the op has a valid query as do I and many others here .
I stand by my observations regarding the strange way in which many cars ( Caterhams , Ultima , Super V8 , Turbo F1 examples are my main examples) break traction either far to easily and or breaking out sideways from a dead straight line .
Some have said what's ffb got to do with this , maybe nothing directly but in my experience the default ffb options certainly exaggerate these traits .
I have managed to get around most of these problems by using third party ffb files , learning to anticipate the sudden rear end kick out of these cars and still enjoy the SIM immensely. I'm sure many many others have been put off early on and never bothered to spend hours researching custom ffb and tuning , a real shame as this SIM deserves to succeed but I fear it won't ultimately until it becomes more accessible from a handling/ physics perspective.
So Reiza , do you acknowledge this as an issue ?
If yes then what if anything can you do about it ?
    Thanks.

Problem i see is if they fix the issue most people will scream they are making it simcade because the cars will be way easier to drive when in reality they should be.

Though unable at the present to try, have any respondents here tried the comparison of the Op example car, given to explain his point.
Given the current direction of thread going back to op may be informative, less conflictual even.

Nobody is going to waste their time comparing cars with PC2. The grip levels in that game are completely ridiculous and form no basis for any kind of sane comparison.

You dont know what are you talking about then, because i specifically stated the HISTORIC/VINTAGE tires that are an option in the lotus 98T setup in PCars2.

The only thing you're doing right now is provoking other users and generating a lot of noise. This stops now or you will receive a time-out.
Your knowledge of the matter is certainly not on the level of one of the physics devs (steelreserv actually is one of them, like i'm involved in physics department matters aswell, so take the hint 1st hand). You may stop your ramblings now. :)

Right, its YOU who can determine my level of knowledge?

Look, i have been modding physics for 15 years. I have driven cars and go karts on track in anger. I have been an amater go karter for years (with some success i might add). My father was a touring car national champion. My granfather was a chief mechanic. I am an IT engineer by trade and my hobby is restoring older sports cars. And yes, i have many books on the matter.

So i am pretty sure that steelserv has a comparable resume and qualifications...

There is always something that can be done about it. AMS2s development cycle isn't over and there are more months to come. I think the past track record has proven things to take steps in a forward direction and it will continue. You don't solve potential issues with a fingersnip - also you don't want to mess something else up in the process. :)
