Indeed as said before. :D The 7800X3D is the gaming CPU to go for atm.

After checking the PcPartPicker site I have asked one of the Danish shops if they would agree to match the Picker total price. If I buy it all in their shop.
Hopefully they are tempted to get the order.
Pigs are not completely stupid Im told:p

Just ordered the PC parts on the list but included the Ryzen 7800X3D instead of the 7900X3D.
My pocket mole are gone into coma :(
Never thought I would buy such an expensive PC.
Getting the 4080 graphic card is the only problem.
Looks like everybody wants this card. And want it NOW ;)

    Our systems are quite similiar.
The shop have promised the 4080 Super to be home 12 march. But Ill see it before I trust it.
Sounds like it would be profitable to have some shares in Nvidia at the moment;)
Maybe it was a bit silly of me to go for the most OC-able MSI 4080 Super - because I will probably undervolt it slightly to run cooler

1060 to 4080s your mind will be blown, only now you will need a better monitor because that will surely bottleneck your new beautiful system.

Install a bot or something similar (google it) then camp (yes literally camp) on nVidia official store and grab the Founders Edition for half the price the custom ones.

I did that in the past with my 3060ti...

Ok but I consider the LG 1440 monitor as a nice compromise. Be aware what old 1050 monitor I come from:D
But beside a reluctant step "up" from my good old Win7 to MSs forced weekly updating of OS then my focus gamingwise will be the Beyond VR thing.
Looking forward to get some knowledge about and imersion by this technology:p

I mainly play sim racing in VR and triples but as my illnesses progress i find it harder and harder so i also have a nice ultrawide and play some non racing games with a control pad. I guess its all what you want and need from your setup.

I think you will LOVE the immersion of VR, just hope your stomach is up to the task. I have had a few people on my VR and they have been sick for hours and even feel the effects for days, haha, its so funny big burly brick layers blokes on the floor moaning from motion sickness from a few minutes of VR

I've noticed the people who get sick in VR are also the same people who get dizzy watching someones home video that have a lot of side to side motion, so if you feel weird watching home movies where the camera operator is "drunk" than try VR first if possible.

Sorry to hear. I hope it is not too bad. If it turns out that my health become worse and I can’t play in VR anymore, I’ll replace my 27inch 1440p screen for an ultrawide as well. For now it all is fine. At least from what I tested with the PSVR2. Luckily motion sickness with racing is nonexistent for me.

Conserning possible motion sickness it dont bother me too much. I have a very strong natural resistance against any seasick symptoms soo..
Conserning 3D immersion then long time before digital photo I have taken a lot (1000+) of 3D analogue color slides with a DIY 2x syncronized cameras SETUP. And displayed them on a screen through polarized filters. Viewing via pola glasses I know how immersive 3D is. Hehe long time before 3D digital movies had a now more or less aborted life in cinemas.

ByTheWay: if I could afford it I would have been interrested in Apples new argumented thing.;)

Good to hear. VR and cockpit games are so immersive. You won’t regret it. The first time I had a VR set on my head, I got shivers all over my body.

Re Apple: yeah me too, but the price is way to much of course. Although I bought an IPad Pro M1 when it was available, a lot of money as well. But it works flawless. You might say what you want about Apple but it works so smoothly and good.

I would like some more feedback.
Im pulling my hair out to find an advanced WiFi card compatible with my AMD motherboard.
Because on the Asrock site for the Lightening MB some (compatible?) Intel WiFi cards are shown.
But in different fora I can see that Intel WiFi cards are NOT compatible with AMD MBs.
"In and around these slots are the five total M.2 sockets with four dedicated to storage (Key-M) and the fifth (Key-E) for a CNVi- or CNVi2-based Wi-Fi card (not included)."
    ASRock X670E PG Lightning

I wanted the Intel Killer one ;)

    Thanks for the quick response.
By a coincident I have been looking at this card too.
Probably because it was selected as the best 2024 card in some reviews.
But seen in the context that the next gen WiFi 7 cards are slowly launched now I consider this rather expensive.
I have actually asked the danish shop - that is about sending me all the parts to my announced PC (when the 4080 g-card arrives) - if they would be able to offer me the following WiFi card:
    MSI-HERALD-BE-NCM865-WI-FI 7 | Accessory | MSI Global

ByTheWay: Honestly I dont know if I would feel any difference even if I does choose a cheaper card. But the reason Im focusing on this is that Im about to get fiber network installed in my flat and dont want to get the MP connection slowed down if I cannot manage to get the fiber cabled to my PC.

Because the danish shop cannot offer me the new MSI WiFi 7 card above Im discussing with myself if I dare to order one of these Intel cards.
Because its a bit strange that discussions on most forums does say that Intel cards does only work on Intel MBs/CPUs. While this Asrocks compatibility list does exactly list Intel WiFi adon cards for the MB.

I saw a ton of Intel wifi cards used on AMD so... unless there is something specific happening with AMD right now I think should work...

Probably I would spend some good money on a Gigabit Powerline kit and use It with cables....

    Just a quick example here

My problem is that I get a fiber connection installed in my rented house this week. But I have no control of where the fiber modem is installed. It will probably be 2 rooms away from my PC.
    Beside the entrance door.
So if I dont want to have cables all over the floor I will probably need to use wifi from the fiber modem.
Conserning the wifi card I have used all the weekend to get into whats up and down conserning wifi cards. And Im 90% sure this one from Asrocks compatibility list will work on my AMD MB.
Nothing special. But hopefully reasonable stable.

I had a similar fiber install issue, the provider would only install the router in one location, which was also about two rooms away from the PC. So, after they were done, I bought the same fiber cable type 50 foot extension and snaked it into the game room and set up the router there.
I have a similar WiFi 6 antenna and it's close to the router, and I typically get 450 down and 450 up.
If I was to buy a really special router I could get the full 1000 up and down, but so far it's been fine as is.
